Today the New Englans Patriots take on the Jacksonville Jaguars in Jacksonville.

The Patriots are coming off a lopsided 40-7 victory over the Houston Texans.
Jacksonville is 8-6 and fighting for a playoff position, they lost last week to the Tennessee Titans.

Jacksonville will be without key runningback Fred Taylor who was injured December 10th against Indy.
He reinjured his hamstring last week at Tennessee on his second carry of the game.

I think New England needs to be careful playing against the run with rookie Maurice Jones Drew.
It is these unknowns who can reek havoc over a team if they are not careful.

Brady and the Patriots have been very inconsistent this year with extremely sloppy ball handling, turning over the ball too many times against Chicago, Miami and Detroit.

I believe New England will be victorious in this game by maybe a field goal. Hopefully they won't play like they did the last time they were in Florida.

Other key matchups today.

Baltimore Ravens 11-3 at the Pittsburg Steelers 7-7
Can Pittsburg turn the tables on the Ravens who pounded them earlier in the year at Baltimore 27-0
Ravens are just too tough on defense and the Ravens will win by 1.

New Orleans Saints 9-5 vs New York Giants 7-7
The Saints have clinched a playoff berth but will be looking to improve on where they will finish in the playoff run.
The Giants have spiraled downward and have dissapointed their fans across the country. I think a lot of fans had high hopes for the Giants this year.
Saints to win by 3.

Tennessee Titans 7-7 vs Buffalo Bills 7-7
The Titans have a 5 game win streak  and the Bills have had a few strong showings ecspecially last week dismantling the Miami Dolphins 21-0. The loser of this game will miss the playoffs altogether.
Buffalo will win by 7.

Cincinnati Bengals 8-6 vs Denver Broncos 8-6
These two teams face off in Denver where the winner of this game will have a good chance of advancing in the wild card spot in the playoffs. Denver will need to play a strong game if they plan on going to the playoffs.
My prediction here Bengals by 3.

San Diego Chargers 12-2 vs Seattle 8-6
Chargers may rest players here but they are shooting for home field advantage throughout the playoffs.
Chargers have the best offense in football and they should handle the Seahawks with no problem today.
I wonder if the weather will play a factor or not.
Chargers win by 7.

Monday at 5PM ET
Philadelphia Eagles 8-6 vs Dallas Cowboys 9-5
The Cowboys look to revenge their previous loss to the Eagles and this should be a good matchup.
Tony Romo an emerging new quarterback who took over for Drew Bledsoe is playing great football.
Look for Dallas to win big here.
Dallas by 9.

Monday Night
New York Jets 8-6 vs Miami Dolphins 6-8
The Jets are playing great football lately and look for the Jets to win big here.
Miami just can't string together a few wins. They beat the Patriots handily but they couldn't beat Buffalo.
Jets win by 7.

Well those are my predictions for this Sunday and Monday.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year

Well, honey I hope you know it's Christmas Eve Day...and we have things to do...places to go to and people to see. That means you can't sit home watching Football all day..BTW where did you hide my presents??

There have been some great stories this season - LT's record-setting year, the resurgence of the Saints. Who would have thought Baltimore would be 11-3, or that the Steelers and Seahawks would struggle so much? Can't see the Broncos losing at home, and I suspect Kristal will have more to say on that! Merry Christmas!

I'm born and raised in Pittsburgh but we had more than our share of miracles last year so I'll cheer on my 2nd favorite and adopted team, the New England Patriots!!!

Because the Super Bowl was so stressful last year for me , I bought the DVD of the game which I plan to watch this weekend. I think I'll enjoy it more, knowing the outcome.

Fun post!

Monika you'll have to get off of AR real soon so we can return for the game. Hurry Up.

Presents??? Ah shoot, I knew I forgot something. Hurry up then and let's go...

John LT is one running back who over the years just seems to get better with age. He is very dangerous and will wreak havoc over the rest of the league this yr.

The Saint's are no longer the Aint's and have a proven running back in Reggie Bush. Drew Brees seems comfortable in N.O. Seahawks and Steelers are a big surprise as are the Baltimore Ravens.

Scott  Merry Christmas to you and your family too. Pats all the way baby....

Linda friends of ours sent us yellow crying towels last year after the Steelers Super Bowl victory. I wonder how the Steelers would have fared if Big Ben never got in the motorcycle accident. They are on a run right now and todays game with Baltimore shall be a good one.

Thanks Jay

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year

The Seattle SeaHawks have been hurting with injuries all season but I got an email from Santa and he is going to give me an early present: a Seattle Seahawks win :) Go HAWKS!!

GO PATS!!!!!  ANOTHER win today ....  that's I'm having visions about!!

Ann

ps--no football or shopping till I get my hat - I like the one Monika's wearing......  ;-)

I have my terrible towel right here ready for the game.  Plus my sister in Pittsburgh  just called to instruct me to open one of the presents she sent.  In it was a photo of her dressed like Troy Polamalu, (our favorite)  complete with the wild hair!  Hey, why didn't she send me the shirt like she has on in the photo!!??

12/24/2006 10:46 AM by Linda Davis (RE/MAX Realty Group)

Chiefs won last night:  too much, too little, too late.  There's always next year huh?

I do hope that the Chargers clinch home field advantage for the sake of my fantasy playoffs.  If I win, I will be playing against LT next week.  I picked up Michael Turner for this scenario!

Jay, Merry Christmas.

I beleive Jaguars will win, because they have no other choice...if they want a playoff position.

Tampa bay should win Cleveland...I hope.

Jay & Monika, from my family to yours, we'd like to wish you a very Merry Christmas and a truly amazing 2007... marti, Chantal, Yris & Anais

Eli, anyone should 'win' Cleveland they suck lol.  As for the Steelers, I hope they win by Three. LOL  May all of your teams win, Moni and Jay! (Do you have bets on these games?) :-)

Hi Carole I do not gamble, I have too many other vices that are just as costly.

12/24/2006 01:03 PM by Jay McGillicuddy~Real Estate Broker (Prudential Verani Realty)

Carole...beleive it or not...sometimes I'm looking for Cleveland's success...only because my wife's family are there...but, Florida first...lol.

12/24/2006 01:08 PM by Eli Magen (New World Mortgages,(Mortgage Company))

Linda you didn't think she would give up her prize shirt did you? Troy Polomalu is a realgood football player and he can make the plays when needed. He had a great season last year.

Renee too bad for the Chief's as I think the were a better team than they actually showed us this year. Oh well, like you said there is always next year. Chargers will be tough to beat I hope we don't have to face them if we get in the playoffs.

Eli Pats have the ball and are ahead by 3 with 9:27 mintues to go. Tampa is kicking butt against Cleveland.

Marti, Merry Christmas to your family from ours.

Carole  Steelers aren't fairing too well today. Last I saw they were down by 14.

 INDY upset by Houston. Yippee

Whew Patriots squeek by Jacksonville on a close play by Jarvis Green who knocked the ball out of Jacksonville's quaterback David Garrads hand. Was it forward motion? This fan thinks not.

Patriots off to play Tennessee next week. Patriots clinch division... YEE HA .

12/24/2006 04:53 PM by Ravi Shah (Prudential Fox & Roach, REALTORS® )

Jay, it was a good win, and the arm was not going forward.  It only went forward after Green hit Garrad's arm, so I agree good call.

Hey at least we can agree on one team.....LOL........GO YANKEES

Jay & Monika I hope the two of you have a VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS, and a great 2007.a

12/24/2006 05:52 PM by George Souto (McCue Mortgage Co.)

Jay, George...No win is a good win when your team is on the losing end...but thats the sport, congratulations. At least Tampa won...as Carole said (or maybe not...lol) won one of the best teams in Cleveland area...lol.

Yippee -  ANOTHER Patriot's win!!!!!

A happy day in the McGillicuddy household!!  Did ya get your shopping all done??

Thanks for my hat!!  ;-))

Ravi thanks for stopping by and you must be dreaming if you think the Eagles are going to beat Dallas in Dallas.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you and your family.

Thanks Jay

George yes, we can agree on one thing. I am surprised you are not a Giants or Jets fan. I grew up rooting for the Giants. Andy Robistelli, Jim Katcavage, Sam Huff, Pat Summerall, Frank Gifford, Spider Lockhart, and my favorite Y.A. Tittle and I'm sure I'm missing a feew other great players too.

Eli I feel your pain and Jacksonville is a tough team. Tampa Bay won but look who they were playing. I like Cleveland because they hired Romeo Crennel as head coach. Romeo was the Defensive Coordinator for the Patriots. I just hpe he can keep his job there and turn the team around. Looks like you are just going to have to become a Pats fan.

Thanks Jay

Ann  McGillicuddy household is very happy. Pats gave us a little scare but all is well now.

Take care and have a very Merry Christmas. Jay

12/24/2006 09:19 PM by Jay McGillicuddy~Real Estate Broker (Prudential Verani Realty)

Jay, I grew up in Providence, RI and oddly enough I like all the NY and Boston teams except the Red Sox.  It seems that it is impossible to be a Yankee and Red Sox fan at the same time.

12/24/2006 09:35 PM by George Souto (McCue Mortgage Co.)

Just something about them Red Sox and Yankees, looks like this rivalry goes back to when Babe Ruth was sold/traded, I guess. Hatred passed on down to generation after generation. Also the Red Sox not winning a World Series in 86 years and the Yankees winning I think what 27 W.S. titles may also be a key factor in this rivalry. Names like Bucky Dent come to mind. LOL

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year

Jay, so true, but I think it is OK for us to dislike each others team, but still like each other....LOL

Virginia and Ruth

All this football talk and no one mentioned the Carolina Panthers  pouncing on the Atlanta Falcons this afternoon! I went to the game at the Georgia Dome with my Sister-In-Law and her husband. Here I am with Ruth, getting ready for the big game!

This Panther win keeps our wild-card hopes alive. We'll see you in Miami this February!

Falcon Lady

I even got this fantastic picture of my hot man with an ATL Falcon cheerleader.  He loves some hot NFL cheerleaders!  Of course, she is no Top Cat... and no, she's really not a Falcon cheerleader, she's just one of their many well-dressed fans!

Virginia I see I did miss that matchup but with both teams having losing records and slim chances of reaching the playoffs I must have just skipped over them. It looks like you had a great time at the game. If the Panthers can get into the Playoffs and make a run the Patriots are going to have to play some great football to get back into the Super Bowl. A rematch would be a lot of fun and of course we both know the Patriots would be victorious again.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!!

Well, I may be late to this post, but I wasn't late to the game. Go Pats!:)

I predict superbowl this year, hows that?

My grandson was born in Bethlehem Pa...Aside from the religious connotations, his "other" grandparents are Steelers fans. And so they should be.

We take turns buying him Pats and Steelers outfits. Think we are confusing him?

Hi Karen,

I am glad you caught the game. It was a little too close for comfort for me. Steelers will have to wait until next year. Poor kid has won a few Super Bowls wearing each teams outfits. Let's hope the Pats do it again this year. Go Pats!!!

Thanks Jay
