T’was the night before Christmas and in San Ramon

This real estate agent was working the phone

The rest of the city in calm celebration

While he was sweating his next presentation

The people that answered we’re really put out

More than one gave him a shout

But on he went with desperate cold-calling

While his market share kept on falling

The market was bad much worse than slow

The reason he snapped, another FSBO

His Google campaign was on the ropes

Down the drain were all his high hopes

He started blogging late in life

It didn’t take much, but cost him his wife

She suffered through his pager affair

But all this posting was going nowhere

It was getting late, his eyes were sore

He’d SEO’d until about four

His meta-tags were looking great

He had no clue to the day or the date

The weather was pouring an Active Rain

Scripts and dialogues haunting his brain

He’d hit a wall and couldn’t keep going

His efforts were zip, not even a showing

So out the door and into the night

When a rush of wind gave him a fright

And what to his bloodshot eyes should appear

But an empty sleigh and eight standing reindeer

A jolly fat man was walking his way

He hadn’t a clue what he should say

He stuck out his hand, a little too quick

The portly fellow said he was Nick

He lived in the north and was tired of the cold

And was looking to move his entire household

Something with acreage and a great big house

And a modern kitchen for his spouse

The agent noted the wants and needs

And said he’d email all the good leads

It was all beginning to seem unreal

But he and Nick inked the deal

Nick had to hurry and be on his way

So he ran out the door, back to the sleigh

But he cried out a thanks as he flew out of sight

I’m certainly glad you stayed up tonight
