I am guilty of reverse mortgage discrimination

I will admit it. I discriminate. I try to treat all borrowers equally when I'm given a closing assignment. But I treat people who get reverse mortgages differently.

I'm scheduled to do a reverse mortgage closing on Monday morning. The title company called me tonight to let me know that they were sending the loan documents over in my email.  I have them printed out already.

I spoke with the borrower to confirm the appointment. To my delight, her loan officer will be there. He will be able to answer any specific questions about her loan that she might have. Otherwise I will be presenting the documents to the borrower and explaining them.

I also printed out an extra set of the documents so that the borrower can have a copy.  This is where I tend to discriminate. No, I don't use cheaper paper or anything like that.  I use a different type of binder clip.  For conventional loans I have a large supply of binder clips that are black.

But for reverse mortgages I use these:

binder clip - gold

After all, what do you do for people who are in their Golden Years?

Discrimination? Yes, I'm guilty.

Leon, that is just wonderful!  Sounds like the seniors really benefit by YOU doing their signing.  By the way, I ALWAYS go to my client's signings and the notary is always surprised because, evidently, not many loan originators do that!  Thanks for a great post! ---  Sylvia
