On November 20th, the Alton Planning Board got their first look at a design for a new 43 lot subdivision. The subdivision would be located on Route 28A with access points off Austin Road and Swan Lake Trail. The plan calls for a 5000 foot road that will service the 43 single family residences and cover 100 acres.
Karen O'Rourke, of Brown Engineering represented Bayview Forest and Development at the meeting. She stated that the site was primarily chosen because of the views.
The main topic discussed was the issue of drainage with the amount of cutting to be done for views. O'Rourke explained that the developers are working with the land and stated that they still have a long way to go. Another concern was that of increased traffic on Swan Lake Trail if it were to connect to the new subdivision. Current residents were assured that traffic studies would be required as part of the subdivision process.
The board will be proceeding slowly with this proposal.

Nice update to a very detailed process. We'll look for your updates. Many do not understand the approval requirements before a new subdivision can be built. Very nice post Kim.
