Have you ever noticed how some images leave a lasting imprint on your mind, that some images from your early childhood stay with you for ever, and others from yesterday are hard to recall today.

On the way home, after sitting up all night with my mother as she passed on to her reward, I pulled over on the side of the road to watch a glorious sunrise. I could almost hear the angels singing as she was welcomed into heaven.

This is a picture that I am sure will stay with me for the rest of my life. Every time I drive past the spot where I stopped I will be reminded of my mother and all that she taught me, all that she stood for and all that she was. In time the memories of her illness will fade but not the blessings she bestowed on all who considered her a friend, mother, grandmother, mother inlaw. She was an inspiration to many.

In this materialistic world that we live in it is hard to believe that people still live in mud huts. While you may think the picture below is a picture out of a history book or National geographic it is a picture of a small villaga in Ghana. No electricity, no running water, no indoor plumbing, where your bed is the dirt floor and yet everyone I met had a smile on their face. This is another image that will be with me the rest of my life.

The moral of these lovely stories - we only get a few seconds to capture our clients attention when they click onto our web site...if we want them to remember us, and come back, we need to make a favourable and lasting impression.

Those of us who use the Internet to promote our product are fully aware that image is everything whether it be a listing or information how it is presented can make the difference in the eyes of the viewer. If they like the image we portray will they come back to our web site? Most Likely.

Kathy ~  Thank you for sharing.   I have witnessed and heard from many like you, the amazing awareness that can surround you following a loved one's passing.   I don't think this is coincidence.    I love the way you describe her going "on to her reward"    How lovely!

Linda - thanks for reading...that was an amazing morning, I had driven towards home, exhausted, and the sun began to rise, filling the sky with beautiful colours. I had stopped to enjoy it a couple of times, then as I neared home, I realized that I did have  my camera with me.  That is a picture I will always recall.

Trey - yes it is beautiful, a valley I pass daily for 14 years, and never tire of the beauty year round, today it is snowing and it is gleaming and sparkling in the early morning sunshine.

Kathy,

Life is very short and when these moments happen we must embrace them.  A great way to remember our lost love ones.

Dan - Live is short indeed, we need to be continually conscious of that fact and make every moment with family count and that is not easy, so often we get busy with real estate, the job that can keep you going 24/7.

Kathy....Thanks for sharing your special moment. So sorry to hear about your Mother. I can still remember the song I heard on the radio the morning of my father's funeral, and it was 15 years ago! Indeed, many of the small things that happened that day will stay with me forever.

Funny...I was cleaning house today and in the corner is a stack of photo albums that I started to consolidate to photo boxes about a year ago, and have never gotten back to it....but I did stop for a moment and go through them.....WOW...I know why they say if you can save your photo albums, do so! One of these days, I'm going to undertake the project of scanning them all and putting them on discs so I have them safe! But, no matter what picture I looked at, it reminded me of that moment in time!

I've also been meaning to start back writing a journal! But I can't keep up with my blogging,...I don't know how I can add that to the mix!

Thanks again for sharing you moment!

Thom -As we age and memory begins to fade the images etched years ago, that are locked up somewhere in the mind, can be brought to life once again by simply opening an old photo album. Photo albums are treasures that in some cases are passed on for generations. We have a few of those unfortunately they begin to lose meaning as many pictures are not identified and the only thing we know about them is that they are likely pictures of previous generations with a sprinkle of that particular generations friends and acquaintances.

Kathy~As I look at that beautiful picture of the sunrise, it is clear that God is reaching out with His loving arms to hold your mom so close "as she passed on to her reward".  That picture is beyond beautiful and your story as well.  What a treasure it is to have crossed paths with you. Many blessings to you!

Julie - Thank You - A treasure we share - As we walk life's pathways with its many crossroads, it always amazes me the number of paths we cross with people on them who have an impact on our lives.

I'm so glad you linked me to this post, Kathy.  I hope you've framed that beautiful photo of the sunrise.  Wow!  And the way you linked these photos back to real estate is nothing short of brilliant!
