With everyone switching to HDTV, 1080p TV, LCD and Plasma TV we are running into an issue of where to put our old TV's.  Take Back My TV is raising awareness of this issue and has issued a call to action for TV manufacturers to take back their TV's for proper recycling.

Watch the Video Below and then follow this linkfor more information on what is happening, the proper places to recycle your old electronics  and how you can get involved with the drive to get maufacturers to take back their TV's.

Best yet is to only replace your exsisting electronics when they have finally died and are no longer useful.  If it works, don't replace it.

Interesting. I know some local municipalities that offer electronics recycling opportunities periodically. I don't know where the stuff goes after it's collected.

Andrew, we've just quit watching TV. I know strange. We like to read outloud at night the classics like :"Two Years Before the Mast", "Waldon", The Boat Who Wouldn't Float". I'll do a post soon with authors and such. We are having a blast.

Rosario - Salt Lake City has held two free ewaste reycling days where the waste is properly recycled and re-used.  Check with your city municipal waste department.

Jeanean - That is WONDERFUL.  It has been a goal of mine to do the same, but I need the whole family to get on board for it to work.....

Andrew:  Nice post!  I did a similar blog about electronics recycling here in Rhode Island.  These services are provided to most communities... it's up to us to get the word out!!!
