temecula

As Drenching rains continued into yesterday afternoon. Temecula city officials decided to pull the plug on the 15th Annual SANTA’S ELECTRIC LIGHT PARADE. The announcement was made immediately to re-schedule the event for December 14th. Yesterday's postponement was the first in the parade's 15 year history. The rain was most welcome, though, as our area is in a drought. We need much, much more.

The event regularly draws about 20,000 spectators. You can See the parade lineup and parade route by following the links.

Tom - Rain is good in areas like yours and mine! I believe we had more rain yesterday than we had in the last 8 months! Haven't checked the latest tally, but rain is good!! I like that Temecula city officials rescheduled opposed to cancelling! The light parades are always fun, the surrounding areas all do them, in Tempe, AZ at the Tempe Town Lakes, they have the Boat Parade, spectacular! Happy Holidays! Enjoy the lights!

Bill - It's all good. Thanks for visiting.

Candace - We needed the rain more than the parade. I'm looking forward to the 14th.

Tom,

We are getting SNOW at the Ocean!  Living in the Pacific Northwest, we are used to the rain.  We call it "Seattle Sunshine!"  Keeps the area lush and green!

What a gorgeous area you live in! We were in Temecula last year and our friends took us to a Brazilian restaurant in a beautiful open-air type of mall.  The palm trees-how lovely!

Sorry your event was postponed!

Happy Holidays,

Steven & Marti - It must be gorgeous! I love where I live. You probably visited Roda Viva. Give me a call next time you're in the area.

'Sounds like a good trade-off.  Parade for much-needed rain!  We were kinda dry for a while there, but nothing like the areas we pass through on our way to Pinehurst N.C. for Thanksgiving - beside Rt. 95, we could see the bottoms of lakes used for the water supply nearby.

Tom, Somehow you read my mind...

while I was posting my comment, I was thinking of adding 'please take lots of photos to share with us'.  Then I thought better of it since I didn't know if you'd be going or not....and low and behold, the only thing you said in your reply to me was an answer to the question I only asked of you intangibly! How do you do that?

Tom:  The positive is the rain!  We have such a severe drought here in North Georgia that any sign of rain whatsoever makes us want jump and shout.  Honestly, when it rains here, we actually go outside and stand in awe!  Looking forward to your pics on the 14th.  Hey, I expected to see a Santa hat on you by now!

Hi Tom,
Disappointing for the children but a gift from the heavens.  NC is in a drought also though not as bad here on the coast on inland.

Bill & Barbara-Jo - Me, too. We need a lot more, but it was a nice start.

Cynthia - Thanks. Bizarre how some places are getting flooded while others are in deep drought.
