A Self Help Book With a HUGE Dose of Humor!

Ben Stein cracks me up - 3 of his books: How to Ruin Your Life, How to Ruin Your Love Life and How to Ruin Your Financial Life are side-splitters.

That is, if you can handle scarcasm and a very dry wit.

These books are filled with examples of what NOT to do with your life, time, finances, etc. You will laugh, but you'll also realize that you are being warned about not letting yourself fall into very self-destructive behavior.

Frankly I hate self-help books - generally they are nothing but tons of 'warm fuzzies' and convincing youself that you're OK no matter what you do. BARF.

This is NOT one of those books!

If you aren't familiar with Ben Stein you might remember him from his role as the less-than-interesting teacher in Ferris Bueller's Day Off.

BUT...

If that is all you know about Mr Stein, you will be surprised at the depth of his accomplishments in Finance, Law, Academics, Acting and Economics.

I've always admired Ben Stein's wit and the knowledge behind it. His quiz show, "Win Ben Stein's Money", (with Jimmy Kimmel) was one of the best. Time to surf over to Amazon and take a look at his books. Have a great holiday and a prosperous new year!

Had the pleasure of meeting Ben in 1995. He`s a wonderful guy and a "Great Stock Picker', he`s a day trader...

I am gone for a couple days of R&R and this is what you do... you write several posts. I think that you are trying to pass me in points, again. How come you did not mention this book when we were playing golf? I miss Ben's show... "Win Ben Stein's Money." I think that is where Jimmy Kimmel got his big start.

Just a bit of trivia for everyone: Did you all know that Ben Stien grew up in Silver Spring and graduated from Montgomery Blair High School here in Silver Spring, Md along with Goldie Hawn and Connie Chung?
