By
Real Estate Agent with Your Town Realty

I just saw this and thought it would be great for everyone to read. http://shine.yahoo.com/healthy-living/20-ways-speed-metabolism-180300099.html.  I will be 40 this year and I know that my Metabolism is not as active as it used to be.  I'm getting slower at playing my hockey games and not able to do my shifts as long as I used to.  But I'm working just as hard, if not harder yet my metabolism is not keeping up.  Following these tips should help my metabolism so I will be following them.
The 20 Ways to Speed Up Your Metabolism are basically:

1. Keep Hydrated
2. Keep Calcium Levels Up
3. Ditch the Drinks

4. Eat Constantly
5. Destress Yourself
6. Decrease Diet Soda
7. Don't Forget Your ZZZ's
8. Soak Up the Sun
10. Drink Kombucha Tea
11. Increase Weight-Bearing Exercises

12. Up Your Vitamin C
13. Vitamin B is Key
14. Drink Green Tea
15. Avoid High Fructose Corn Syrup
16. Try Interval Training
17. Drink Oolong Tea
18. Spicy Peppers
19. Go Ginger
20. Eat Oily Fish

I challenge everyone to try it for 2  months.  So do it till June 1 and see how you feel.  I wil lbe doing it starting today.

Having recently crossed the 50 marker, I can attest to noticing a difference.  I'm just about to start the Food Lover's program with my daughter and son-in-law.  It promotes eating every 2 or 3 hours, and has worked well for many others I know. Good luck with your lifestyle changes!

Been doing almost everything on your list for a couple of years now..... ever since Jeanne got sick and nearly died.  She's almost completely returned to health.  Now working on the exercise part and its making a real difference.  Your item 8 of soak up the sun is one of the most important in your list.... if you can't do that then supplement with Vitamin D3.

Fernando, I don't drink anything that is carbonated so part will be easy to pass up.
Joetta, I was doing the eating every 3 hours and lost some weight.  I will LOVE that part of doing this again.
Al and Peggy, I'm glad your in.  Raising my glass of water to you too, Cheers.
Ralph, I'm glad to hear that you wife is almost completely back to health.  As for the sun, that is something I can not do at this time... I am dealing with a big case of Skin cancer all over my face http://actvra.in/v6J but I will surely look into the Vitamin D3.  Thank you for letting me know about that.

I have a question - what does item 3 refer to when there are other items on the list regarding various teas to drink?  Is item 3 meant to refer to alcohol?

Mark, yes item 3 refers to alcohol, I have heard that before that it slows the metabolism.
