Kiwis, Superfood!

By

kiwis

First imported from New Zealand, but now grown in the U.S., the furry brown kiwi has many superfood powers:

1.  Fight off the Flu.  Just 2 kiwis (a measly 90 calories) provides a whopping 230 percent of your daily requirement of immune-boosting vitamin C.

2.  Protect your Peepers.  Kiwis contain a plant pigment called lutein, which can help prevent cataracts.

3.  Control Cholesterol.  They are an excellent source of soluble fiber, which helps sweep cholesterol out of your body.

4.  Keep Skin Clear.  The skin-beautifying antioxidant vitamin E is ordinarily found in high fat foods like nuts, but kiwis are a great low fat source.

I like Kiwis, but they are a pain to peel for very little fruit. But I am the only whole will eat them, so I don't have to share!

We like kiwi's and have occasionally enjoyed them but, A couple of days ago we bought some Kiwi Berries.... never heard of them before.  Jeanne ate one and almost immediately got nauseaous then had the beginning of feeling like her airway was closing up on her.  I guess she won't be enjoying the health benefits again anytime soon.

Kiwi is an definitely an amazing food. Food choices make the difference between living and dying... really. If it comes in a box, eat the box, it's probably healthier for you than the food that's in it. Advocado is another amazing food! ... Go Packers!

Kiwi's aren't always availabale here in our little North Idaho grocery store but I absolutely believe in nutrition for health - instead of "eat junk and take pills."

I wish doctors were schooled in nutrition, but I suppose it wouldn't be good for the medical industry's financial picture if more people simply ate foods that kept them well.

Kiwi is my daughter's cat's name! But that doesn't stop us from adding some kiwi's to a fresh fruit salad.

Tasty things also. I love the fibinochi sequencing for natures amount of returning patterns inside. You know, apples have them, oranges, its the interior pattern.
