Review of PictureItPostage.com - Photo Postage Stamps

We went to the California Association of Realtor expo a few months ago where there was a vendor for postage stamps that you can create on your own.  Here's the web site: PictureItPostage.com

I had previously mocked up a prototype to send to their competitor (Stamps.com) as I had been a Stamps.com user for years.  However, I decided not to buy the Stamps.com postage as I ultimately concluded that the size of their postage stamp was too small (or at least the size they allocated to the business was too small).

Here's the postage example that I mocked up for myself.  This is approximately real size of the actual postage stamp.

So, hey, what do you think of the design?   Anyway, here's what I like about this particular vendor and why I ordered from them.

1) You could create horizontal (good for home listing photos) or vertical (good for agent photos) postage.

2) The top part of the postage can be colored with your choice of color.

3) The bottom part is completely customizable by you (just upload your file), and it's quite large (as you can see).

In thinking through my design, I decided to go with additional vertical text (our web site), horizontal text (my phone number) and personalized writing (my signature).  Overall, I was very pleased with the results.  Confession: My husband John actually designed it.

You can buy postage for post cards, letters, and even packages.  The cost for my first class postage was about 80 cents per stamp for a 41 cent first-cloass postage stamp.  (That's the cost when you order at least 40 stamps, and there are price breaks when you order large quantity.)  My initial test was 40 stamps.

I got the stamps in about a week after ordering.  The quality of the printing was rock solid; to be careful, I uploaded high-resolution, 300dpi images, not just 72dpi web-type images.  The postage stamp paper material was quite good quality.

NET RECOMMENDATION: Good product, good printing.  Highly recommended.  I'll buy from them again.

My uses for the stamps include follow-ups to clients as well as local businesses.  At 80 cents/click, they're not replacing my regular postage, but it's a really unusual item to be using for your US postage right now.  I like it. I have now used up all 40 stamps on holiday cards, so I'll be ordering some more soon.
