Lenn, Absolutely amazing!  They are beautiful homes.  The one that is listed at 3.5 m though looks quite a bit like one that I sold a few months back for 400K.

CHRIS:  Yep.  This homes in The Reserve are in McLean and it's some of the most expensive real estate in the Wash/Metro area.

Great market information, Lenn!

I found this statistic rather interesting:

INVENTORY OF REAL ESTATE IN FAIRFAX COUNTY - END DECEMBER 2006
PRICE RANGE - Under $500,000
- Homes Actively Listed for Sale - 409
Average Price - $467,779

So, basically, what you're saying is that although there are 409 homes listed under $500K, the majority are listed for $467K-$499K.  All I can say is "ouch"!

'NOVA'.  I'll be driving through on Thursday on my way to watch a UVA basketball game (though I don't think we're very good this year!)

The Fairfax school system is still a big draw isn't it. To me, average days on the market sound preety good. Is it the fastest growing area of the entire region?

CAROL

Yes, the public schools are still a BIG attraction.  However, prices send a lot of folks out looking for something newer or bigger for their money.  That takes them to Loudoun County which has boomed with growth in the 5-8% for the past 6 years or so years.

Loudoun is hot.  Although they just decided to limit development in western Loudoun to 20 acres or less.

That will put a crimp in the building out there.

Thanks Lenn; the 20 acre limit should help Fairfax homes sell as well.

geez, the home you have pictured for the 700k home is about what I can get in the best city in the Indianapolis area(Zionsvile) for 200-250k.  Best schools in the state, no crime, etc.

I am glad I live in Zionsville and Indiana!  I can live like a multi-millionaire for 1/5th the price!
