I was just reading this post...Its about visiting and commenting on others blogs, by Bob Norvell when I got to thinking. Reciprocation. TLW wrote a blog about this as well. It's important for those of us who us who are on AR for communication, referrals, friendships, and advice.

It made me think. Should we reciprocate on here? I think that is most appropriate. I mean, I'm not trying to be the "Miss Manner's" on here, but if you know what reciprocation means. It's a nice word.

Reciprocate means (according to Webster's Dictionary) vt. - 1 To give and get reciprocally 2 To do, feel, etc, in return 3 to move alternately back and forth. (In other words, you give me advice and comment to me on my blog, I will in return comment on my blog if I can help you as well.) [I mean really, why wouldn't you?]

Reciprocity, n. means 1 reciprocal state 2 mutual exchange; esp. exchange of special privileges between two countries,  that's right I said countries! (Ok, that may happen occasionally)

Reciprocal, adj., means 1 done, given, etc. in return 2 mutual [reciprocal love] 3 corresponding but reversed 4 corresponding or complementary - n.1 a compliment, counterpart, etc. 2 Math.(not applicable here).

Do you think you should reciprocate if you read a blog? Does it matter to you if someone doesn't? Are we here blogging for information ( yes or no and why you say what you do ), and is it the right thing to do?

Do you take offense to the clicker's who read and don't post? Do you wonder why they don't post?

Are you here to learn? Will we learn from you? Absolutely!

RECIPROCITY IS A MUTUAL EXCHANGE OF INFORMATION...ISN'T THAT WHY WE ARE BLOGGING ON AR?

Very Interesting, I read a lot of blogs every morning. I post a lot of comments and stopped keeping count about 3 months ago. I think I comment on 20-30 a day... I guess I reciprocate, it just makes sense!

Merry Christmas!

Funny thing is I just checked and your post has been viewed 60 times and there were no comments yet. There are a lot of people that just read and do not comment (obviously).....

Karen , Usually i only comment if I have something to say. There are a few people that comment on all my blogs and I always try to do the same on theirs, but I read alot of posts everyday and don,t se the points of leaving one or two word comments just to have a comment recorded. Also if I disagree with the post or find it just silly I usually don,t. When you are reading the Joke over in the comedy group how many comment do you nned that just say "very funny" also sometimes I don,t think they are funny at all but to say so would be rude.

Charles, Merry Christmas to you too! I know that there are many who do not feel that they can write. One of my friends in my office feels the same way. She reads alot but doesn't write. She could if she tried though. She is really funny too. I'll get her to write a blog one of these days.

Thanks for posting.

Hugh,  I know what you mean. I read a ton of blogs at night after I get home. I have a lap top and I sit and blog while I watch TV.

If I don't have anything nice, I try to say nothing at all.

Karen ~ Sometimes I wonder why there are no or few comments on my blogs, but the views are there.  Then again, there are sometimes when I click on someone else's because the title caught my eye, but I really don't have any thing to say (i.e. the subprime mortage chart on how homes are selling, etc.), so I may look into their blogs to find one I can comment on.

Kathy,

You know I agree, I can comment on real estate, I read the mortgage ones that perhaps I don't understand. I am not adding to the blog, but I might pose a question regarding that blog...to get feed back and to learn from the answer!

Thanks for posting.

I like the post!  I enjoy getting feedback on what I write about, I think we all do.  I like to provide feedback too if I find the post relevant to my knowledge base and I can provide something of value...but then sometimes its just nice to have a little atta boy comment!

Curt,

Thanks, Exactly! Why post if you don't want reciprocity? I mean, I write a comment or maybe a relevant question, and I like a response! Thanks for posting.
