Vacations are a great thing, they revitalize us, and renew our energy. As a Broker it was hard to get everything organized in order to take off for a couple weeks, and by the time I left I was really ready for my annual vacation. It still took me several days to just enjoy the time and not think of work, let alone wonder what to do with my time since I had no computer.

Although I was having computer withdrawals I did have a great time in Hawaii. Most of you already know that I met up with Sally, Randy, and Linda. I know this because I saw Sally's Post.
"Traveling the Road of Aloha....The ActiveRain MEETING with Peers"
My Grandkids talked about Sally several times throughout our trip, and for any of you going in January to the conference, she is exactly like she is on her Posts.....genuine; full of laughter and fun. What you can't see on her posts is her laughter....that hehe she writes just doesn't give you the depth of her laughter.....infectious my daughter called it, and I have to agree :) :) Thank you Sally for a wonderful time....I loved it!!!!!
Randy was as I expected....a true Gentleman, and hey I even saw him blush once at something Sally was teasing him about :) :) Oh, and in case anyone is interested he didn't wear his Hawaiian shirt.....and if it wasn't for his beard I might not have recognized him :) Thanks Randy....I thoroughly enjoyed meeting you!!!
It was also nice to meet Bruce's wife Linda. She is a very intelligent woman, and has her share of ordeals trying to get everything in order after Bruce's passing. Thank you Linda for taking time out of your busy day to meet with us for Breakfast :)
After 3 days on the Island of Oahu we went to Kauai. Snorkeling, hiking, and a rafting along the coast......)

Vacations for me are all Photo Ops.....I love Photography, and trying to capture the moment on film. Unfortunately with a digital camera you just can't get the same quality of photos, or at least I can't. The first photo was taken while I sat waiting for the sun to set.....I never did get a good picture of any Sunrise or Sunset, this was the closest I came.......no beautiful colors, but I still got the feeling I wanted:) The above photo I took while my Grandkids were snorkeling. This was our last day, and the rains had stopped (it rained several days we were there). This day was perfect.
Here are a couple Photo Tips I learned, the hard way:
- Water Cameras don't take good pictures in the Rain. (check the expiration dates of the film, and get one that has the largest depth ie: 50 feet)
- Laptops are for more than just blogging, and completing Real Estate Contracts.....they are great for downloading your cameras memory stick...(just make sure you take a flash drive or CD disks to get them off the computer, especially if you and the computer will end up in different locations :) :)
- Turtles and Dolphins don't wait for you to get the camera ready :) :)
- Most of the good tours are during the hours that the sun is too bright for a good photo (take the picture anyway.....)
- Regular 200 film,or digital setting, isn't sufficient for the dark rainforest's areas (you need 400 or greater)
- Other Drivers don't like you stopping in the road to take a picture :) :)
- Waterfalls, and Breaking surf are hard to photograph correctly if you don't change the Shutter Speed (to get that soft look)

Hawaii is a wonderful, beautiful place.
