We live in a wild frontier that is for sure! You can go to bed at 10 degrees only to wake up to 45 degree weather that melts the snow in one day.

We go from 45 degree weather to wind chills of -25F or more in a matter of hours :-) Never a dull moment here in Alaska!

This weekend was a fantastic display of the power wind has and left many without power yesterday evening. Winds gusted upwards of 80 MPH!

Tonights forecast is a bit better: "WIND CHILL ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 5 AM AST TUESDAY...
A WIND CHILL ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 5 AM AST TUESDAY. TEMPERATURES OF 10 TO 20 BELOW COMBINED WITH SUSTAINED WINDS OF 15 TO 25 MPH WILL RESULT IN LOCAL WIND CHILLS TO 40 BELOW ZERO."

Where your coats and bundle up Ya All.... looks like this is going to continue through Wednesday http://www.weatherforyou.com/weather/alaska/wasilla.html

Sara Lee, That is some nasty weather. Do you even go out in that cold?  I can't even imagine it.  I think the coldest I have been in was 10 below and that was just a couple days but completely unbearable!  Keep warm!

That is a little to cold for me...When you don't have to turn on your freezer that day, that is too cold. (I think I'll come for my fishing trip in July - lol)

I lived in Minnesota and at times it would get to -80 with the windchill. When I left Minnesota one night to head back to New Hampshire it was -29. BRRR

I will someday come to Alaska as it has always been a dream of mine.
