Let's Band together as a community and Help our Troops

Regardless weather you agree with what the President is doing with the war in Iraq or not, our troops are over there giving their lives daily. Some of these people are on their 7th tour of duty. A lot have not seen their family for a year. Think if this was you, how would you feel? Some of these people might not even get a card or letter during the Holiday season unless you act. It takes less than a minute to do this and there is no limit to how many times you can do it. You can click the banner up top or the link below to access the page. Join me today in support of the troops will you?

If you go to this web site, Lets say Thanks in support of our Troops  , you can pick out a thank you card and Xerox will print it and it will be sent to a soldier that is currently serving in Iraq . You can't pick out who gets it, but it will go to some member of the armed services.

How AMAZING it would be if we could get everyone we know to send one!!!

This is a great site.

It is FREE and it only takes a second.

Thanks for posting this, it is wonderful. I will definitely be clicking that link and saving it to favorites! They are doing their job and do not get much credit for it and they seem to get lost in the hustle and bustle of our daily routines. It does not take much to say Thank You to those that are protecting our freedom.

Danny:

Good post.  We cannot show enough support for our troops and the sacrifices they have made for our freedom.

This reminds me of another blog that I recently read created by Mary Warren.  Her recommendation is to also remember our wounded soldiers recovering at Walter Reed many of whom are without local families and struggling with their recovery efforts.

And there is a member of the AR community who also needs some cheering up this year.  She is Gayle Balaban based in Tennessee who's feeling "Lost and Alone with MS in Tennessee" which was a recent posting of hers.  I'm planning to send her a holiday card as well.

Bill that you are correct about.

Michael, that is an awesome thought. I wish I could send everyone on ActiveRain a card.

Danny, great post!  As you know my daughter is in the Army.  While I am fortunate to have her home this year for Christmas, we are mentally preparing for the holidays overseas next year.  She often mentions it is the little things like this that makes the time away more tolerable.  Thanks for being a great support of our troops.

Brande, it is just a little portion. It is the people that actually click the link that deserve the thanks.

ALL -- I need to retract my prior comment about sending holiday cards to Walter Reed.  I saw a brief spot on the evening news that stated Walter Reed isn't in a position to accept items which are not addressed to a specific individual.  Apparently this kind gesture has completely spiralled out of control - something like the kid who had cancer and wanted to hold a world record for get-well cards.

Michael, that is just sad that they can not accommodate this.
