The weather forecasters are finally predicting snow. A little late, guys, but an answer to a lot of prayers.
Not complaining, but it sounds as if we will get lots of rain, sleet and snow with this storm. It could be up to 20 inches.
I will beieve it when I see it. But, there are things to be aware of here, too.
Those of you with gas vents to the outside had better bundle up and go outside to make sure that they stay clear. We haven't been used to this much snow so far so it could slip your mind. And, if they aren't cleared, that could mean a catastrophe waiting to happen.
There are other issues certainly, but that is one of the most important.
And, as an aside, an attorney called to ask to set up a closing on February 29th at a location about sixty miles south of here.
Thanks, but no thanks. I have a great vehicle, but I am not traveling unnecessarily in that kind of storm and certainly not close to the first of the season. I will let the emergency personnel do their jobs getting dumb-luck or just ill-prepared drivers out of the ditches and out of each other's way, and stay home like a sane person should do.
Stay warm and stay safe for the next couple of days. This could be a doozy. Stay tuned!

Hi Don - It's really hard to believe you guys have made it to almost March without snow so far - definitely something weird going on with the weather, and I'd bet the kids are all looking forward to a snow day finally. Stay warm and safe!
Don,
Well that is how unpredictable it has been all over the country it seems. We are supposed to be getting lots of rain also, and so far, we have had a sprinkle or two. It is so nice to have a fire going while working, and also some soup for dinner. Have a great week and stay safe. A
Hi Don, Originally from Milwaukee WI, I know how odd it is to be nearing March without much snow, but wow, if you get hammered with 20" in a short period of time, that would be some storm! I would not be doing any traveling in the storm either!
Good grief. I was just about to get my spring clothes out of storage, and now, I will be shoveling every two hours just to keep up with it. Drat!
Don: My wife said she just talked to her best friend from the Minni/St. Paul area. She mentioned about 12 inches. But 20 inches??? Yowzers! Stay safe, warm ... and keep the hot drinks close by ...
Gene
Will do, Gene. The fire in the fireplace will be nice, too. Just steps from my office. I could use a little downtime since I have been showing property for the last 7 days.
At least you guys will be getting some. We have had none this winter! Last year we got record snow levels, this year we got a record lack of snowfall...What is going on with this weather?
Don, This sounds like much more snow than "pleasant snow".. Hope all stay safe and get those vents uncovered.. stay off the road. So glad you didn't schedule the closing.
Good problem to have, Don! Tired because you had showings! Celebrate .. put your feet-up and watch it snow ... safely from inside.
Gene
I hope that we do get twenty inches. At least if I'm going to be snowed in it might as well be worth the effort!
Hey Don - Feel free to send some of that white glorious moisture to Albuquerque. We are bone dry and in dire need of wet stuff! Winds today are howling and the Q is now under a fire warning. Tis the season....
I am ready for it....the snowblower is all tuned up and ready to roll. And, with my birthday on Thursday, I can just stay bundled up by the fire before I "clear the decks".
Have a good one, maybe you will finally get to snowmobile!
Well, it is about 8 hours or so since you posted this...WHERE IS IT?!
Don, when you're having a mild winter, like we are, and then it turns cold, it's crazy!
Our winter was so mild. Now spring has hit early, and we don't have the snowpack we need in the high country. Irrigation water might be expensive this year. Hope we don't have another drought year. Did you get a lot of snow with this storm?
We haven't had much snow this year either. You are so close now. Keep up the good work.
