I recently came up with a new brochure that would catch the eye - my previous one was a little bland, and it is usually seen amongst my competition. As an inspector on Long Island, I go to real estate offices regularly to make the face to face contact with agents which I feel is necessary in promoting business. Do you, the real estate agent, look at these brochures and make judgements as to the quality of service or any other aspect of a decision? Any comments on literature are appreciated. Thanks - Ray

 Yes, brochures matter.  We want to know 1) what exactly you inspect, 2) how soon you respond to a call, 3) what form the inspection report arrives in, and when, 3) your fees, 4) whether you do a follow-up inspection and how much you charge for it, 5) your experience & testimonials.  And, of course, the basic contact info and your state licensing & certification info.  We also like to see it presented in an enjoyable format, attractive but not ornate or corny.

Yes it matters - If you are going to spend money on anything , do it here.  Hire a professional and remember it is a reflection of you and your business.

Ray, the first job may be generated by a brochure or marketing piece but repeat business depends on service.

Yes, the brochure always matters. I always give my buyers 3 companies to choose from, since we don't want to refer services. The brochures make all the difference.
