How did your numbers come out?

Now I may have counted wrong by a bit because remember my primary language is just one of those choices so sometimes I don't SEE all of the words the way you will either! Remember that sentence! I don't see the way you do either! Here are my answers:

       Seeing=7                                      Hearing=13                             Feeling words=10

What did I mean by the sentence I said to remember, in the last paragraph? I don't see they way you do because I'm very busy HEARING! the words! Some of you are busy FEELING The words! So you only look for feeling words. Are you beginning to understand, to feel, if you will, what may be wrong with your real estate ads? See the difference "here" and that spelling works for me because it sounds like: HEAR!

When you write the next real estate ad, stop thinking about the cost of the number of words that you write and start thinking that every word that you write must count! For that to happen you have to take a huge step back and write your ads differently!  In each add that you write you must find a word that says to the potential buyer or seller "HEH I speak your language!" They also speak these secret languages and so does your spouse. If you want a fun exercize think back through your family tree and see if you can hear them speaking in your head. What are the words that you remember them saying most often? Are you really from a line of seeing beings(visuals)? Hearing beings (audial)or feeling(kinesthetic) beings? I hear my grandmother saying "listen here" and my grandfather saying "settle down" and "see here". My dad's most frequent word was "Kid-O" Say it out loud the way it is written and it sounds like KID -ooooh. Yep he's auditory too! Ok for even more fun, figure out what the primary communication language is for your spouse and you will flatter them into a warmer relationship. Listen to their describing words do they stay in one methodology or another? Next find a whole bunch of "their " words and infuse them into the language that you use with just them. You will actually see and feel a change in their level of intimacy towards you! If you are having a problem with an almost teenager, you may want to try this too! All of a sudden you may be their new best friend! If they have a friend that you don't like. Turn it around use the friends language to the friend and you will be come the cool parent who "understands". Can it really be this easy. You tell me!

I have steered clear of "using" this on the family for the most part but, there are times when it works really well to diffuse an attitude, so well, that I can't help myself, it just happens.

When you write an ad make sure that you have at least one of each of the three primary ways we communicate. There are probably others but, these are the ones that we can best use for our purposes. I suspect that each of you has a real estate guide of some sort laying around the house or office. Take a few seconds to find the most successful persons page and see if they are using this secret language. Many do by instinct! They don't even know what you now know. This is actually part of a science called NLP- neuro Linguistic programming. No it's not a cult and I'm not psychic but when I was younger people thought I might be because they thought that I read them so well.  Silly lanuage? It's fun though when you know how to use it. Let me know if your counts on REALTOR.com start to go up! I'd love to know that it is working for you too! Oh by the way if you don't know how to see the number of hits that you are getting: go to http://resource.realtor.com and login then look to the left menu and click on reports then select a listing and click the link it will even let you e-mail the listing hit count to the sellers. Not automatically this is something you should look at first! So that you can comment on the number of hits! I would print my current hit level for all of my listingas and then get busy with the edit and see what happens!  Best of luck and let me know how it works out for you.

Now when you visit my listing perhaps you will notice the difference in the way it was written! By the way, I could use an offer. Let's talk!  ; ) Oh yes!

Because some people need to read the words, some need to see the pictures and some need to hear the words we are now considering using audio and video on our website, not only will we have pictures and video tours but also narrated movies.   (as a side note the only newspaper ads will be be short and sweet and refer folks to the website)

We have learned from NAR that the most asked for feature is more photos, that solved the visual thing. I too am adding movies to my site to help the people like me who feel very left out when it's silent! For many many years of teaching REALTORS how to use their mls I was frustrated that they just wouldn't listen when I told them more photos, more photos! Most people are visual as the primary!

I'll bet you have figured out that they appear in the order of strength, Visual, Audial, then Kinesthetic (feeling) sometimes, most times you will have a mixture that's why I said to use all three everytime you write an ad.

Can you imagine that even your movies could be more powerful if you watch the words that you say carefully and select at least one or more from each "secret language" as you make your movies?! Good luck.
