Wild weather wreaked havoc across most of the Pacific Northwest this past weekend, starting with some 'heavier-than-usual snowfall that accumulated over Saturday and Sunday.
As quickly as the snowing subsided, the 'Noahic' proportions of rain began.
This Jeep Liberty was swallowed up by a large sinkhole, the results of this past week's record-breaking rainfall that dumped over 12" in a 24 hour period here on the Kitsap Peninsula in wet Washington State.
Dozens of Kitsap County roads were closed, causing huge traveling headaches for area drivers.
Schools throughout Central Kitsap were shut down on Tuesday. Brownsville Elementary remained closed today due to several blocked access roads, including Brownsville Highway near Gluds Pond, and Illahee Road (near Varsity).

A State of Emergency was declared in both Washington and Oregon, allowing local counties and cities to respond more effectively to the storm relief efforts.
