Wow, it is Wednesday already and I'm making my first blog entry of the week. I guess it is a good week when you have to carve out time to blog.
In our office we run our business meetings on the 1st and 3rd Tuesdays of every month. Yesterday I had a conflict in my schedule and was unable to lead the meeting. I had previously lined up a couple of great speakers for our meeting, including our Mid Atlantic Regional VP of Marketing for CBRB. Tom (the Marketing VP) was going to address our team on upcoming marketing initiatives for the coming year and our vision for the company in the current market.
Rather than cancel and reschedule everything, we decided to have a little fun with things and have a "Players Only" meeting (since the coach was tied up all day anyway). Steve Lizik was gracious enough to lead the group and keep things on track.
I was excited to get back to the office today and hear all about the meeting. The team chose to do a couple things different and they were worried that they might offend me. Funny thing, I was thrilled. My passion for our office is that our entire team views it as "Our Office." As the broker manager, I love to see agents taking ownership of the office.
I'm happy to say, future business meetings have just become a little easier for me. We will be initiating a new interactive component in future meetings geared at not just talking about our current listing inventory, but discussing our most challenging buyers so that our team members can recommend potential properties that might better serve the clients' needs. Until next time.
