Mikasa Stores Closing Nationwide December 31, 2007

For anyone that hasn't heard this already, MIKASA stores & outlets will be closing their stores December 31, 2007.

Although you'll be able to shop other retailers for their products, there will be no more physical store locations to shop from and if anyone's shopped the outlets before, they have a wide variety of items ranging from the elegant to everyday; table linens, baskets, chargers, fun platters, silk plants, candles, holiday decor and the list goes on and on! It's a great time to stock up on some staging inventory. I've already been to mine about 6 times the past two months.  They were still getting new inventory as of last week!

Check your local Google search for a Mikasa store near you. The Plano, TX Mikasa store is located near Garden Ridge off 75 and Spring Creek and is in North East corner plaza of Avenue K and Spring Creek Parkway.

I recently received this e - blast that the entire store (most stuff already discounted) is an additional 40% off.

UPDATE 12/23/07:

AS OF LAST WEEK MANY OF THE STORES HAVE GONE TO 60% OFF! The inventory is low but there's still some great bargains.  I purchased more silk plants this time, orchids and mini orange trees.

Yes unfortunately it's true Julianna.

While I'm enjoying the low prices and great deals now, it's sad to lose yet another resource for my inventory.  Bombay Co. was another recent victim too that'll I'll miss along with Westpoint Stevens - 3 of the outlet stores I frequent at a local outlet mall. My very favorite local accessory store, an independent owner, closed within a year of opening, he had all this great iron work and home decor from Mexico and India for dirt cheap prices and he was an amazing person to boot. It saddens me when the good guys don't always win. The economy is tough.
