Why people form different countries read my blog which is primarily oriented for people who are interested in Princeton real estate, homes for sale in the Princeton area, and Princeton home prices and market conditions? It is interesting to think about what people in  countries like Hungary, Turkey, Australia, and China find interesting in my Princeton real estate blog.

Princeton real estate blog readres & investors

Are they international buyers interested in investing in Princeton area real estate? I don’t have the definite answer, but my guess is that real estate investment is not the reason. Looking at the searches it seems that the topic of big interest was “Dressing for Success in Real Estate”. Although I wrote this post a while ago, new readers are looking and finding it.

There are various possible business, blogging, and psychological reasons for such interest. People in these countries may hold American business people, including real estate agents, in high regard and want to emulate what we do. It’s also possible that they want to know what we consider success, so they could do the exact opposite.

Whatever their reasons, it is interesting to consider these questions when writing the blog, since the audience for whom I am writing can be different then what I had in mind.

Here is another example. I wrote a post about the marketing strategies used by the builders, that I wanted the Princeton real estate sellers to be aware of. This post seemed to generate interest form the national big builders although it was intended for Princeton sellers. Of course, I can’t know everyone who is reading the blog, but this awareness is something that needs to be kept in mind.

May be the agents in China who read my post will dress for success, get a very successful real estate investor and/or buyer and will contact me to find them a home in Princeton, West Windsor, Hopewell, and Lawrenceville. Or may be the international buyers see this area as an investment opportunity. Or perhaps, the builders will decide to build new homes here and will ask for my assistance. When people are reading my blog, everything is possible.

16 Comments on Why Princeton Real Estate Blog is read in China?

Faina, I can't say for certain why people in China are reading your Princeton Real Estate Blog.  What I can say is that I was contacted by e-mail and phone by someone in Japan who read my Active Rain blog.  He's on active duty with the U.S. Navy and will be transferring back to the D.C. area in the future and wanted to learn more about available properties and the real estate market in our region.  So, you never know.

Brian -  I am not sure exactly sure how content is found and by whom, but almost every day there is someone from another country. In the China case it seemed to be from a University. There were people reading in Spain as well. The content that is not purely about the local real estate, the town or the neighborhood is something that I will keep in mind as to who else may be interested.

I find it very interesting how our little blog posts make their way out there in the world. It's pretty cool, that's for sure! Wishing you much continued success.

I am not the brightest light in the chandelier....how do you track where your readers come from?

Kelly - I am kind of surprised of amazed. Even though I know what they are reading, I am still not sure why. This is a very interesting phenomenon of the Web.2.

Gary - you are funny. On the right hand side were all the widgets are - there is widget Statcounter.com. You can sign -up for the account, get the widget and it will tell you a lot about the blog stats. I also use Google Analytics, but it hasn't been very useful for me, may be because this is not the high level domain, or may be something else. I hope it helps.

Hi Faina,
That's the beauty of this platform, we're on the "world wide web".  It is amazing to see who finds and reads our blogs.  Something we need to keep in mind when we are writing.

After you get the HTML Code from Stat Counter

Go to "My Home"

Click on "My Settings"

Add the code to the "Blog Description:" box.

If you want a couple of blanks lines around it for spacing effect add <P></P> a couple of times in front of it and behind it.  That's the HTML Code for a blank line between the things.

Thanks for sharing that Faina.  I've been wanting to do it but just didn't take the time to find out where to get the Stat Counter from.

Cynthia - I am trying to focus and although the wide world readership is pleasing to the ego, if the goal of the blogging is business, it needs to be kept in mind when writing.

Erby -thanks for adding the additional details.

Gray -you are welcome. I would be curious to learn what you found out.

Maybe some of them are sucking up e-mail addreses for sending junk mail.

I know I'm getting a lot more of it since joining Active Rain.

Good ole delete key & junk mail filters.  Gotta love em.

Erby -didn't think about it, but quite possible. I actually saw something on Google in Chinese with my name in it. Can't tell you what it was, since I don't read Chinese. I also found myself listed on a Ukranian site, which I didn't know anything about and didn't put myself in there.

Once you put yourself out on the web, you just never know.

Faina, Thanks for the post. I have not tracked the statistics for my site but will start doing it soon. I just check stats on Active rain.

Gita - it's very interesting to see what you learn from the statistics. Even when you have statistics it's a challenge to interpret the meannig. Thanks.

Faina -I have not checked active rain but my web guy/hubby does watch our web sites and we get visitors from all over the world. I am currently working with purchasers; returning from overseas duty, contemplating moving from overseas, and purchasers with overseas money to invest all as a result of this activity.  We do want the world to see and the world is watching
