Every one of Tennessee's 95 counties now offers Dolly Parton's Imagination Library.
What is the program and how does it work?
- The Imagination Library is available to all of the 375,000 children under age five living in Tennessee.
- Every TN child under age 5 can sign up for free.
- Once signed up the child receives a brand new book in the mail every month.
- If signed up at birth, the child would receive a total of 60 books.
My glowing review...
I live in Shelby County and am the mom of a toddler. I love the Imagination Library program. I am very impressed by it and encourage every one in the area with young kids to sign up for it. My son loves the books that show up in the mailbox every month. Many of the books are ones that I have never seen and probably would not have found otherwise. But many of these books have become his absolute favorites. I could probably recite "Llama Llama Red Pajama" by memory.
I think books for everyone are so important and especially for children. I love the opportunity that this program gives for every child to have so many wonderful books. This is one of the best programs we have.
