Do you want to go the the yacht club?

I met a wonderful lady today as I was getting my hair done. She was having her hair done as well. Because I was having high lights I was not dressed as I am (typically to the 9's).

We chatted for a while and then, SHE POSED THE QUESTION...Which was, "SO, WHAT DO YOU DO FOR A LIVING?"

Well after listening to her talk about how bad the market was and how bad her friends thought the market was...I CHANGED HER MIND!

My comments to her were as follows. Do you watch the news? YES. Do you like what you are hearing? NO, Then why do you watch it? BOREDOM. Do the reporters that are talking about the negativity have Real Estate licenses?

I said, "Those of us who work hard are still selling." One in 16 people are going to buy homes next year...Is that so bad?

She said, "No, I guess not!"

Then she asked me again, "So, my new friend, I like you a lot, do you want to go to the yacht club with me for dinner?" Well of course I would have...if I wouldn't have had a half of a pound of foil in my hair and would have been dressed appropriately...only women would understand what we do to look beautiful...LOLOL

So, I gave her a card. She looked at me and said, "Don't you have more?" "More, I said?" She said, "Cards" I said "Sure I do, how many do you want?" She said, "Fifty, I really like you attitude and I'm going to give them out to all my friends." I'm thinking..."Do I have 50?" Well I do have a new box in my car...so, foil in hair...I go to the parking lot...laughing at myself the whole time, geeze...

I gave her the cards, she gave me a hug, and her last words were...it's so nice to meet someone so happy and so positive...YOU NEVER KNOW WHERE YOUR NEXT CUSTOMER WILL COME FROM!

I volunteered to drive her to the airport next week to go see her family! You understand?

Alien for a moment. I felt like saying...hey, beam me up Scotty...you should have seen the looks I got when I walked into the pizza place next door for a soda! LMAO! OK, so we do what we have to do...I gave away a ton of magnet/calender's for 2008 today...didn't take enough...Oh well, next Friday is "nail" day...will catch them on the back end...LOL!

Karen - I love your attitude - you are such a good role model for those of us who have just started. By the way, when agents start to whine about the market, I walk away with a secret smile because I really know how good it is! So glad I subscribe to your post!

Karen - most people are blown away when I tell the we've sold more than twice as many homes as last year - it conflicts with the news.
We need to be sure we're positive and not perpetuating the problem.

No, I went to get a soda at the pizza place next door. I could have been Scotties right hand woman...no kidding! OH yea! I'm taking her to the airport next week, I knew who she was, she didn't recognize me in the foil! LOL....She has and drives and original Rolls Royce....and she's afraid of the market...I'll change her mind. Her hair was done and she stayed and talked to me...Oh well, I'm good with those nice people...
