This is a follow-up to my post on NanoSolar technology.  Yesterday there seemed to be an influx of news on solar projects that I could share here.

First, there is Solara, California's first solar powered apartment community.  They have 56 fully solar powered units.  This is one of the first projects built under California's new zero-energy new homes program.

The next bit of news comes from the World Business Council for Sustainable Development.  Over there they published a wonderful article on solar energy.  It offers some great information on today's new technologies an some updates on projects in the works around the world.  Check it out!

This posting from Inhabitat covers the news on Europe who is building a solar project in Africa that will provide 1/6th of the power that Europe needs.  Proof that we have to work together for creative solutions to our power needs.  My opinion is that Utah's West Desert could be put to much better use than that as a storage place for the world's nuclear waste.
