Have you been asked by a client as to where are EPA's Superfund sites in our area?  I was recently asked by a client regarding this subject matter.  My fist reaction was "huh?, Who, What, Where?"  I didn't say it out loud of course.  As I did more research, I found out Superfund is federal government's program to clean up the nation's major hazardous waste sites.  Below is a website that you can direct your clients.  They can type in a zip code to see EPA regulated facilities, nearby landfills, and find out local businesses or governments have a permit to discharge waste water into rivers.

Catherine, what a gorgeous picture of the Truckee river! My husband and I kayak and that looks like fun! Well....maybe just a little bit too dangerous!

Thanks for the website info.  I'll be checking it out because I heard on the news that the government is going to try to locate some of the materials in Texas.

Hi Catherine,

Thanks for thinking of me.  I've bookmarked your post because with all that's going on in my business these days I'm sure this website will prove valuable.

Catherine, I wasn't asked by a client, but I did find out about a Superfund site near where I live.  A developer was claiming that he would be doing our community a favor by remediating the site.  I did some research and found out that the Federal government had capped the site and that this was better than removing the toxic material as you create more problems during the removal and transport (not to mention that you have to put the toxic material somewhere else).
