While shopping, thoughts popped in my mind, and every time I picked an item a new thought and another tear.  Yes, I don't really understand it.  What are the tears about?

Was the tears for the mother who worries for their son or daughter or the family who awaits for dad to come home?  I don't know but I have been this way my whole life.

Call me Patriotic...

A great quote I read recently and I cannot remember the source, they stated,

"Don't hold it against them....they are following orders...Support Our Troops!"

I personally believe no one wins in war...I can't think about that now...all I can think about is that someone's mother, daughter, father, son...is fighting for my freedom.they sacrifice..in my mind what is important is to Support Our Troops!

Reading through the comment thread in my last post Adopt a Platoon there were so many great suggestions...Thank You.

I started thinking what I would be doing if I were in their shoes..what would help relieve stress?  What would keep me current at home..the trends, music, business, sports?  What type of activities would help me stay sane?  This is what we decided to do..

95 candy canes

95 hand written cards and envelopes with 95 personal notes

30 Magazines ranging from Maxim, WWE, Popular Mechanics to Reader's Digest

95 packs of gum

6 Games of Chess

10 packs of playing cards

2 Football's

4 Pounds of Starlight Mints...Cinnamon

Next boxing it up!

You can adopt a platoon any time of year. New Years and Valentine's Day are the next holidays.

Keep them believing...Stand By Them...Support them!

"Supporting a soldier is a gift we give ourselves as they serve on our behalf! We support them asking nothing in return except for the honor of letting them know they are appreciated and never forgotten!"  AdoptAPlatoon

This is an excellent thing you are doing. The troops need all the support we can all offer.

That's a great package you've put together, Midori, and thanks for sharing the list! You've made it very easy for others to follow your steps and adopt a platoon. I've already got a few ideas in mind.
