I just came from Brian Buffini's Turning Point Retreat in Sacramento today and one of the main things that struck me was this statement from the "Declaration of Independence".

Nice post, Ernie. We aren't guaranteed happiness because I believe it is a mind set - you decide is you are happy or not, so it is best to decide onhappiness - it makes the journey much more pleasant. Love your graphics here and a video clip to boot! Good job!
Hi Ernie, great post. Sometimes we get too wrapped up in our work. I think it's good to stop and think about what will make us truly happy and at least make an effort to get there.
Hi Ernie, GREAT POST. Thanks for sharing this with us. I personally needed the little pep talk today. The picture that you inserted after the question "How do you rate your pursuit..." was perfect. That picture immediately suggested to me that I need to add an element of fun to my pursuit, to enjoy the pursuit.
Bonnie, thanks for the positive comments about this blog. I agree with you too on the point that we have to choose to be happy! It is a mindset and we can choose to be happy or not.
Peggy, we do need to stop and smell the roses and find-out what does make us happy and go for it! I appreciate you taking the time to read and comment!
Sondra, we do need to have fun with our pursuit. The pursuit is where the excitement is. I am glad you were able to use this blog to help that day! We all need a good pep talk from time to time. I hope you have a great day tomorrow and the day after that, and the day after that! :o)
Georgina, it always feel good to get things done and to be able to play. I wish the weather was warmer these days here. I love the beaches in Hawaii and the surfing! Thanks for stopping by!
Love the pictures and the video clips! I did see the movie and I think it is truly inspirational. Giving it your all is great advice. Many times we go sleep walking through life until an event happens that change the course of direction. This is the wakeup call. Breaking out of the routine and putting the actions in place will give new life and purpose. A new direction and a new beginning can be the spark that can help get us into the 10.
Dave, thank you for your comments, it is always good to hear from you! You are a positive force here in AR! I am on my way to getting to 10 myself because I know my "why" I am doing what I am doing. I need to give it my all and not just sit back and make excuses. Being in the real estate business right now is like running in the sand. It is hard going, but the market is about to change. The more important thing is the change in my personal thinking and I am now ready to take on this new market! I hope you are ready to go too! Let's do it!
It is more like quick sand. If we grab some nearby branches (ie. marketing ideas), we can in essence adapt to the changes happening around us (ie. market conditions). This in turn will get us out of the quick sand into land (ie. road to success).
Those who are in the quick sand and cry for help without taking immediate actions will sink into the abyss. Those who reach out and take some actions will have a better chance of survival. Some branches may break as we grab them, so what. Eventually, as long as we continue to grab them we will catch some good branches to hold on and pull. Let's grab those branches around us and rise!!
Dave, you are right about taking immediate actions or sink into the abyss. I am seeing so many agents leaving the business right now because they have not taken the correct actions and have not changed the mindset for this new market. Let's all hold each other accountable and help each other get over the hump!
Great post.....It is those very thoughts you expressed that cause me to work harder and smarter for my clients. I'm more focused than ever before, and thankful for having a record breakiing performance over the last few months, resulting from the strategic planning many months ago.
Bill, I appreciate your comments very much! Wow, it is great to meet others who have a passion for people! I have been training my agents and loan officers to "work smarter, faster, and harder" in that order! I hope you build momentum this month and ride the wave that is coming this new year! Marry Christmas to you! :o)
