I just got called by a sales rep from http://linktechsolutions.com/main.html they hard pitched me on pulling out my credit card to purchase a search term for my market that would enable me to get at least 84 hits to my website via paid sponsorship at the top of the pay on Yahoo. They wanted to charge $50 month plus a $79 activation charge and you could cancel at anytime.

she then directed me to their website to show me there BBB ranking. I started laughing because she was pressing really hard to get to do it and I said I do research before I purchase any advertising. She then tried to tell me that the term she wanted to sell me would be gone if I didn't make up mind on it. I said, "Look I know all about the law of scarcity, so don't try and get me with that." That really shut her up, she didn't know how to deal with that. It amazes me that these people are trying to close people to buy their service after only 5 minutes on the phone with them. They must be desparate.

Has anyone done any business with these folks? Are they legit or like most of these internet snake peddlers, full of you know what?

My take is they don't ever take the customers considerations seriously and think we are all like click...Wurr little animals who will just comply to what they want us to do. I've only met one online lead aggregator sales rep I liked and he worked for Homegain. he took the time to understand my business and figure out what might work best for me. I did some business with him and it was fruitful. But they moved him to another dept., and now they're back to hard chargin closers again. Ugggh!

Hi Terrill-

I haven't used that company before, but I have used a few others and I've been disappointed across-the-board.

Besides - if they're going with THAT hard a close, you have to wonder.....

These type of companies are a waste of money in my own opinion.  If you have the time - you should be able to use all the great info on AR and do it yourself!

There's just so many places that are trying to have us part with our hard earned cash it's ridiculous at times.  I've not used a "lead generation" site yet.  I've heard so much negetive that I'm not sure I ever will.

I got a call from a sales rep from Linktech today.  He was very hard pressing.  I guess they know that if you do any kind of due diligence, you won't buy their service.  The first time their rep called, he identified himself as someone from Yahoo.   Only at the time when he had to explain where the invoice or emails were to originate did he mention Linktech solutions.   I just went to the Yahoo web site and it looks like you can subscribe to that service yourself for the same monthly price with no set up fee.  However, you will pay per click charges.

Ive been in the office at Linktechsolutions.com in tigard oregon. it moves like madhattan. I talked with both CEO's about the company and their motives and goals for the company. I asked them why they try to sell in the first phone call and first 5 minutes, they replied- that they will only sell to one realitor per market, (ie Local realitor in Tigard, OR) so insead of sitting on the phone with you to get the sale when your not sure about the product, they would rather just call one of the other hundred realitors in tigard oregon. they have over 5,000 clients with a 97% retention rate. so only 3% of ppl cancel their service. thats a good sucsess rate. So ya its odd they call up and ask for money. but they dont have time to sit on the phone and baby you through the buying process. so many realitors dish out $$$$$$$$ of money for shitty marketing. when the net is paving the way for marketing, you might as well put your name at the top of the list for $50 a month.

i dont even work for the company and feel that your missing out on great advertising.

They are a scam, got a cal from the woman today who tried to sell me so hard, everything looks legit on Yahoo cause they either know Yahoo's engine well or have managed to manipulate it, do a search on Google and you will find that this company is full of sh!t. check out: http://www.ripoffreport.com/reports/0/313/RipOff0313303.htm

It even looks legit under the bbb.org for the biz in Oregon, but if you change the state to Florida where they are previously from you will see what thier true rating is!

Cheers!

Let me explain exactly how LinkTech Solutions work and what they do for you. First of all, when people go on the net, they search in different ways for the same things. The way everyone searches, that is, the terms they use, are recorded. One can then see how many people are searching for a certain term. For instance, someone in Tampa, Florida may search for "Tampa Florida Realtor" while another may search for "Tampa Florida Real Estate" You can actually go in and see how many people are searching in each way. A company like LinkTech will find those terms that have a decent amount of people searching that way, but where the pay per click is not yet that high. You can then have that term for as long as you want to keep it and that price is locked in. Now, the next month very few people may be searching that way. On the other hand, more people may be searching and you'll still have the same price.

The important thing to keep in mind is that YOU ARE ONLY PAYING FOR THAT PARTICULAR SEARCH TERM. If you are okay with that, this can be something that may or may not have results for you. It certainly should not be your only form or even main form of advertising. The set-up fee is certainly just money in their pockets. I can't be a 100% sure, but I don't think Yahoo requires it. You will also be in the top three in all the search engines that are listed in Yahoo FOR THAT SPECIFIC TERM. Keep in mind that you're in the Paid Advertising box, you're not listed in the search results. So again, this is a very specific type of web advertising. Pretty limited. Can it have results? Sure. I honestly don't think that many of their realtors have results from it, but then god knows how many of the other methods realtors try actually have results.

I hope this clears things up a bit as to what exactly LinkTech does for you. Keep in mind when they say that that term will not be available for long, they are right because they will set that term. However, another term may be. But it will probably have less searches. And there's always the chance that in the particular area they're working in, there are not a lot of different terms. Will someone else buy that term? ABSOLUTELY. LinkTech does very well in the selling department. Quite honestly, some of the salespeople over there are better salespeople than some realtors!

So, there are pros and cons. If you just want this as some supplemental advertising, it could be for you. Do not expect it to be your main form of advertising. Keep in mind that the searches for that term could increase or decrease. That's just the way it goes. Also, don't expect this to do anything for you if you're website is not great and if you don't have something to lure buyers in.

As for the LinkTech in Florida, that's a completely different company. They're not even in the same field.

Hope this helps.

LinkTech Solutions offers Seearch Enging Placement, Janie cleared it up for the most part. We are not a scam. We put a link to your webpage on the top of Yahoo.com. Search Engine Placement is designed to get buyers and sellers to your website, which we do! We cannot make people who get to your site pick up the phone and call you or buy a house from you. Thats your responsibilty as a realtor. We get them there, you make sure your site is up to par and that it encourages people to contact you. We have a trained support team that is more then willing to work with you and do everything they can to make this successful for you. We want you to succeed as bad as you do so you go tell your collegues about us and purchase more positions. As far as ripoffreport.com goes, we made a billing error, we fixed the billing error. The client who created the report is still an active client of ours. If you really go through the website you will see that almost every company has had multiple complaints on ripoffreport.com, your phone company, your bank, your grocery store and many, many more. Some with hundreds if not thousands of complaints. You can not make every body happy no matter what you do. Nobody can. However we handled the complaint professionally and cleared up everything with that complainee in timely manner. As CA Realtor previously said "put ripoffreport.com into google and you will see who the real rip off's are." If you have any questions or concerns feel free to ccontact me s i can address them. 800-416-5603 or Tim@linktechsolutions.com
