Meme'd in Virginia!!!

By
Real Estate Agent with Realty Negotiations

I’ve had a couple days to think about my subject – me! Me and I’ve been spending some time together sorting through all the things that might help you figure out who I am and a little about what makes me tic!

First, thank you to Elizabeth Nieves for tagging me for a meme. I’m flattered and I couldn’t think of a sweeter person to tag me!

1. I’m a proud mom to four beautiful children! Ages 13, 11, 8, & 5. Our youngest was adopted from China and she can’t wait to grow up to be a Realty Direct agent just like mommy!

2. I can’t return to my “hometown,” being that I was raised on military bases! Yes, the sound of jets overhead, the site of tanks behind fences, war games and picnics, taps at sunset… I was raised a Military Brat, spending 9 of 18 years overseas. I lived in Okinawa, Japan for 6 years and then moved to London, England for 3. Then, I returned to the US to attend college!

3. Would you guess I went to an all women’s Catholic college? I received a Bachelor of Business Administration with concentrations in Marketing and Management from Saint Mary’s College, Notre Dame IN . See my Guilty Pleasures Music Blog for photos of the fiancé I left in London…for 4 years! My ND Japanese instructor, Father Minamiki actually married us a week before graduation.

4. I’m a TREE addict! We have a nursery up the street with nursery stock 50% off right now. TORTURE!!!!!!! We can drive by any house we've owned in the past and see most of my prior Mother's Day gifts standing tall in the yard. Love trees? Value family? You have got to read Andrew Lenza’s recent blog The Root That Twines

5. My inspiration: Sam Joseph, RE/MAX Village Square of HGTV’s Bought and Sold. Sam Joseph is my all time favorite agent. Thank you, Sam, for giving me permission to post your photo here. Sam personifies what an agent should be. He’s good, yet he has a ton of fun doing what he does.

Whether visiting a historical society to come up with inspiration to market a historical building being converted into loft units or creating a special ornament for a historical home as a party favor, Sam successfully navigates his listings, smiling with success and through any challenge thrown his way. During a quiet open house in one episode, he ended up in the neighbor’s yard shooting plastic rockets into the air one big jump at a time and making the kids giggle. This man loves his job and people love him.

I’d like to tag the following 3 people for meme’s. The first is a huge influence in my career, Jennifer Allan, affirming my beliefs and confirming how to follow through and be an extraordinary agent via her book, Sell With Soul. Then, there are two people from the state of my birth, Califonia, who I don’t believe have ever been meme’d: Elizabeth Weintraub, and John Occhi Hemet.

Andrew Lenza, you ended up in the chain,so consider yourself lucky not to have been tagged with a meme!

Another Military Brat! What an education we got growing up in the military! You were lucky spending so much time overseas tho, I was always stateside, except 4 months near Athens Greece, what fun that was.

Great MEME!

Bob  Nice to meet you!  We used to own land in St. Patrick, MO, (Lake of the Oaks),practically the furthest North you could get before hitting IA/IL.  St. Louis was always our flight hub, so for some reason you seem local.

Elizabeth  Spoken like a true Southern girl!  Thank you for the warmhearted compliments.  Truth be told, I traveled extensively from ages 9 to 22 and I'm now a homebody! Just don't tell anyone.  :')

John, I hope you don't mind!  I thought I looked to see if you were part of the meme group and I guess I didn't work hard enough!  I'm off to read your July meme.  Watch my back?!?!  You are too funny.  Teach you to say something nice on my blog!

Thanks for the tag! I'm heading out the door for a ten-day cross-country trip, so I will save this for a down-time somewhere along the journey... too frazzled today to be clever...

Hi Natalie, Well, I probably messed mine all up but I did it for you. I didn't have time to think of much, so I hope it's what you expected. Thanks for thinking of me. Gotta go pack;  I'm leaving the country tomorrow for a much needed vacation.

Grace  Where was Andrean High School Located?  Did S Selman teach there?  Perhaps she was in Merrilleville...

I have an older cousin who was a Boilermaker!  Purdue's a great school, too.  St. Mary's ended up covering about 50% of my tuition and my parents and I put the rest into college loans.  I also worked on campus, but a lot of my $ went towards paying my phone bill.  Mick and I didn't talk more than once a week, but in those days the charge to call London was $1-1.75 per minute.
