Not only is Galion my hometown, it is also a great town!  Galion is a community of approximately 11,000 people in Crawford County.  Nearby cities and towns include Bucyrus, Caledonia, Crestline, Mt Gilead, North Robinson, Lexington and Ontario.  Galion Ohio is located approximately 50 miles north of Columbus and 115 miles south of Cleveland.  Although the area has struggled as whole over the last few years (and who hasn't?), Galion has seen its fair share of positives, including brand new top of the line elementary, middle, and high schools.

Galion, Ohio always has been, and always will be a great city to raise a family in.  (Some would even say that I didn't turn out so bad.) It retains a strong sense of community and has more than it's fair share of successful alumni that are always willing and ready to give back to the community.  The new schools are also a dramatic change for the Galion City School District.

Galion also has a great park, called Heise Park, located in the middle of town near the schools and hosts the tennis courts, city pool, football/track facilities, and baseball fields.  The local YMCA is nearby offering a full array of exercise equipment, a full size swimming pool, basketball courts and more. Interestingly enough, the Olentangy, which winds southward toward Columbus flows through Galion where it isn't much more than a creek, until joined by another waterway at Heise Park.  You can find local events and information at The Galion Inquirer.
