Where Has The Fort Wayne Area Real Estate Market Been And Where Is It Heading?

A big thank you to our local Fort Wayne area Board of Realtors® for putting this video out for us.  

As you can see, pending 2011 fourth quarter sales in the Fort Wayne MLS are up a whopping 19.2% from the same time in 2010.  At the same time last year, sales were down a whopping 30.7% from 2009.  OUCH.  

In the 2011 fourth quarter, the number of Fort Wayne homes for sale is down 1.6% from 2010.  

The bad news for sellers...  home prices in Fort Wayne are down 4.9% overall.   

The most shocking part of this video for us is the amount of homes that sold in 2005 and 2006 (the height of the Fort Wayne housing market when anybody with a pulse could get a loan):  16,248!!!  

Overall the market is picking up all around.  That's good news for both buyers and sellers in the Fort Wayne area.

That's a really, really good report.  Very well presented and just the right amount of detail.  The continuing drop in inventory is an excellent sign that should stop the decline in prices.
