This group has been created for the sole purpose of those real estate sales professionals who are currently active in BNI, a professional networking referral organization, in their marketing area. The objective of this group is to discuss the successes achieved and success strategies fellow agents are using to give and obtain quality referrals within their individual chapters. By extending the "Giver's Gain" phylosophy of BNI through the Active Rain community, this discussion group hopes to capitalize on the achievements of each Realtor® who is a member of the BNI organization such that fellow agents of BNI can maximize their BNI membership.

Licensed in Iowa, found of the BNI "Business Masters" Chapter in Des Moines.  

We started the chapter in February?  Had our Kick-off meeting on April 18, when we still had seven members.  Now membership has jumped to 14, and we're thinking out next visitors day should be in early September -- you know, "back to school, back to business". 

I'm having a lot of fun with the group -- I'm an initiator and generally have no trouble in the startup phase kind of getting things rolling -- but I've not seen any fruits as of yet, for myself.  I'm figuring it may take a year, or so, before I start to see results.  BNI is not a get rich quick scheme.   We'll probably need to have 25-30 members before I start getting many decent leads.  At the very best, I'm thinking I'll close six transactions per year from BNI referrals.

What have others experienced?  Particularly interested in the startup phase.
