Nothing to do this weekend? DONATE

Hello!

Now that the bulk of the holiday season has passed, most of us likely have a little more free time.  If you are looking to do something this weekend, why not do something that is good for you AND for others?  Oh, and it's FREE!  What is this magic activity?  OK, the first part isn't THAT fun, but the end result is, and it will make you feel good.  I'm talking about cleaning out your house - unused clothing, bedding, appliances, furniture, etc.  Did you get a new toaster this season?  Old one still works?  DONATE IT!  Have clothes you haven't worn in seasons?  DONATE THEM!  It won't take that long to round up some excess items, and take them to Goodwill, or Boys & Girls Club, or Salvation Army.  All these great organizations give back to the community with jobs and affordable items for those less fortunate.  You gain a sense of satisfaction and good will by donating. 

Now is the ideal time to donate, as well - if you itemize your taxes, donations are tax deductible!  (And I KNOW we all love deductions!)  As always, consult your accountant or tax pro, but it's a great extra incentive at the end of the year to drop off a few boxes of donations!
