I have not written lately about starting my new real estate company but I have been very busy!  I am up and running... Took my new partner to the NAR convention... it took me over 1 week to recover! ( am I getting old? )

I have been in this business as a real estate agent in Jackson Metro area of Mississippi for over 29 years.  I seen more than my share of up and down markets over that time.  When the market is hot we have everyone and his brother jumping into real estate... but when it is down(which I don't think it is really down!! ) real estate agents leave the business.  I guess it is the same thing as mortgage broker... I use to get a call from a new one at least twice a week.. Now, the only ones that call are the ones I have known over the years...

Many of you are asking what does this blog have to do with hiring real estate agents?  Well, if you are an agent and you are on this website.... you are interested in what is happening in the market.. you are attuned to everything new you can learn and above all YOU ARE NOT DISCOURAGED BECAUSE YOU KNOW THAT REAL ESTATE IS THE BEST INVESTMENT ANYONE CAN BUY... When the prices drop.. you have folks who would not ever buy when it was high but are ready when the prices correct themselves... so... these are the real estate agents I want to hire... those who have half full glasses.. not half empty!  Ones, who are still excited about real estate and are not always complaining!  Those that still believe that there is always a new buyer or a new seller around the corner... Hey, I think someone who is getting into the business for the first time has got to be a winner... they don't listen to all the TALK!   I think we have a great opportunity... We are in such a great business!!!    I am looking for agents that want to learn... be on the cutting edge... and are team players... real estate  in Jackson and Oxford Mississippi and all over the US will continue to grow... If someone tells you different remind them to look back 29 years... hasn't everything grown?  I am from a small town called Jesup, Ga.... the new subdivisions that have sprung up in the last 29 years amaze me!
