Demand Surging for Re-fi's, Costs as Well.

I read this article in USA Today. http://usat.ly/xYLbja  The article talks about the increasing activity within the refinance arena and the HARP 2.0 program. The article explains who can qualify for the program and states further that they expect to help over a million homeowners with the new improved version. This all sounds good and I hope it's a successful program.
I decided to call my mortgage holder to learn more about the program first hand. The article seems correct but I was surprised by the costs involved in refinancing through the program. I was quoted costs between $4,000 and $5,000 depending on the interest rate. That seems like a lot of money to me, and should certainly be a factor when determining whether the HARP program is right for you.
