When my wife was 7 years old, her dad discovered a wonderful recipe for, what else, lemon bars while serving jury duty in downtown Santa Ana, the county seat of Orange County. These lemon bars soon became a part of her family and she's been making them for our family since we've been married-21 years.
Recently, the Orange County Register, our local paper, picked her recipe as a favorite and featured it in their food section. Attached is a link to view the story behind the recipe, as well as the recipe. And, as an added bonus, if you click the audio slide show, you'll see and hear my wife preparing the lemon bars in our kitchen with none other than her dad. www.ocregister.com/ocregister/sections/life/food/
Citrus fruits are abundant here in Orange County (guess you could've figured that out by the name of our county). May your family enjoy this long-time recipe as much as our family. And, happy baking in the OC!
