Missing the Great "C" Thief

College Station, like many smaller communities doesn't have a high crime rate.  We did, for one brief moment in time have the Great C Thief.  The C Thief will live on in infamy with many of us....

The C theif went around the city taking capital C's.  We're talking a discriminating thief that only stole the capital letters and seemed to enjoy the irony behind the thefts.  We were reduced to having the "ity of College Station" (not sure why he didn't take the C in College, but this person was the mastermind), we had Bee reek Park, Dove rossing, astlegate.  This felonious soul even sturred the city up enough to have a veteran Eagle reporter write an article (incidentially with no C's) about them.

Yes, I know this cost everyone, but I at least like to hear about criminals with a sense of humor!!!  The newspapers are always commenting on the dumb ones...

Does remind me...Equity Real Estate was missing the E for a while and the Y's light went out.  For one evening their sign said "quit Real Estate".

Chris, when I was in high school, my senior  class stole every single real estate sign in Beavercreek, Ohio and placed them in the font of the high school. There were hundreds of "for sale" signs in the front of the school come Monday morning. It was a great prank. Stealing the C's was a good prank as well! Is this really a thief or a prankster? Is there a difference?

I would like to meet that person so I could ask the reasoning behind taking the capital letter C... there has to some kind of inside humor to it.  Thanks for sharing this... now I will be thinking of a reason.

Jeff, for shame!!!  I bet you had your hand in it!  You have that look in your eyes!!!

Jason, I'm still not sure, but I don't know that I'll ever get over the chuckle that "ity of College Station" caused me!!
