Fallen Feathers in Peoria Arizona

Kevin the EmuPeople frequenly find chicks, canaries, parakeets, macaws and other fowl flying around not knowing what to do or how they can help our feathered friends.  A friend recently found a newly hatched hummingbird. It was too young to survive on its own. My friend took the baby hummingbird to Fallen Feathers in Peoria Arizona where it is being nursed it back to health. Fallen Feathers release the birds back into the wild with a soft release after they are strong and healthy.

While at the shelter my friend got to meet Kevin, the Emu.  Did you know that male Emu birds are the primary caretaker of the egg? Interesting that in humans the role is reversed.
