I am really confused and I don't really think anyone really knows the answer.

On one had the government is seeking to keep Religion and Government separate.  No 10 commandments in the court house is one example.

But on the other hand, Obama wants to dictate to a religious entity that they have to supply a medical issue that does not fit into their religion.

So, on one hand we are kicking Religion to the sidewalk, and on the other hand we are telling Religion what they have to do.

I don't care what political affiliate that you belong to.  Where is the line to be drawn.  Looks really cloudy to me.

I think government has too much time on their hands and are putting their noses where it doesn't belong on a lot of issues!

This will be only the beginning.  Once they are paying for everyone's healthcare, they can dictate every bit of your lifestyle.  What you eat, smoke, drink, how you exercise,  ya da ya da ya da.   I do not want to pay the bill for someone to sit around doing drugs and playing roulette with their health.  Government is way out of control.

I think both government and churches are a bit confused.  When churches employ persons other than those who facilitate worship by members, they are treading outside the separation shield.  I don't think the insurance coverage mandate is as much a violation of church/state separation as it is a violation of individual freedom of choice.  Individual choice should extend to employers as well as employees.

Since the government intends to have 30,000 drones in our skies watching us by the year 2020 you betcha they are going to be watching you.  Even George Orwell did not predict that one.

I just learned that "1984" was written in 1947. And no, George Orwell didn't predict the drones in the sky, but the rest of it is sure getting close now.

Anyone who hasn't noticed that Obama wants to be dictator for life - and control our every word and deed just isn't paying attention.

Vote ABO (anybody but Obama) in 2012 - while you still have a right to vote.

This was founded as a Christian nation - now soon to be a Muslim nation? It's something to think about, because that just might be the objective.

It is all greek to me.  We were founded with a Chritian background and now we want to look past that.  next we will be looking past past presidents and what they did.

Mike, if the church didn't hire people of a different faith, they may be guilty of discrimination.

I don't know, things just seam to be headed in a bad direction.

You do like to stir the pot.  Great topic for discussion.  I will have to throw this out in one of my next groups.

Off subject a little and yet not.  Some of the "child safety" laws are just amazing! Seatbelt laws are one thing, but you really should not speed or smoke with children in the car and definately buckle them up. How will they enforce some of those laws?

The problem is that the religion has crossed the line and gotten into the healthcare business.  When they do that, they have to follow the healthcare laws.  Just like the religious organization has to follow a whole bunch of other laws.  Personally I think employers should not be providing health insurance to anyone just like they don't provide homeowners or auto insurance.  If they got out of that business, then they could dictate their conscience much better.  Big gray area.

Separation of church and government was intended to protect the freedom of religion. Government has crossed the line.

There isn't a separation of church and state. It says the government will NOT establish a religion. Big difference.

I am sorry, but this is standard fair for the liberals. Rules apply as long as it benefits them or protects them, but when they want to change something it is 'Katy bar the door' and they can do what ever they think needs to be done for the "benefit of society" because they are SOOOOO much smarter than we are.
