Yesterday, I had my first coaching session with Jacques, my ClubNet coach.

It was a "5 Wow" conversation.

To prepare for our time over the phone, I prepared a business profile and a first draft of my 2008 business plan.  That alone put me way ahead of where I was this time last year - I had a few written goals but no real plan.

And I want to share with you a wonderful nugget that I got from Jacques.

You know how we all make out plans and New Years resolutions and all of that to start on January 1st of whatever year?  That would be the time to dump all bad habits, eat only healthy food, work out at the gym 5 times a week, and do all of our calls and contacts and prospecting.

Add to all of that clear clutter from home, office and brain.

And of course, by the end of January, I'm back to slug bait!  I'm eating like a pig, going to the gym only to use the steam room and whirlpool, letting my business go back to auto-pilot, and bringing junk home from some neighbor's flea sale.

So this year, I am not waiting for January 1.  My New Year began yesterday.  I'm getting into practice.   By the beginning of the New Year, I'll at least be in practice - and while I may not make it perfect, it's going to be really, really good!

I can feel it in my bones!

Pat, one of the things I figured out this year is that the New Year begins with planning that should probably start in November...

Patricia,  Good for you!  Clubnet is the best, especially now in this market.  Clubnet will wrap its arms around you so that, you will always feel our support.  Wishing you a good 2008!  You are on your way!  I will be heading to Orlando in January for the Turning Point, plane tickets are not expensive at that time, so it is well within my "spending plan" That's how I start off my new year!

It's a Good Life!

This is why I re-look at my business plan on the first of every month. I make the first of every month a new year and re-check those new years resolutions.

Great idea!  Why wait?  Congratulations on your decision to work with a coach - did you ever notice that the long-timers in this business never stop reaching out to learn?  Hmmmm.... do you think it's a coincidence?

Patricia - for a few years I worked out with a trainer. He came to my house and weather I liked it or not I had to exercise. I was never in as good shape, as I was then. I am sure the same applies to business. Good luck, I am sure you will reach your goals.

That's a good "nugget", not waiting till January 1st is smart.  My natural clock says that September 1 or labor day weekend is the perfect time to do it.  Septmeber just feels like the beginning of a new year.

Club Net is Great and congrats on your first session. There is a RREALTOT in my office that two omnths ago signed up for the monthly package rather than spend the $$ on coaching. Ok, I can understand...especially as a first step. Thursday we had a conversation and she has been mailing 15 cards a week and doing nothing else... she was VERY upset that so far she did not get a lead...

Point is the best feature of Club Net, besides accountability is it ties everything...all of the activities together and keeps things in focus!

If it is good enough to qualify as a goal for tomorrow, then there is no point in waiting to put it into practice.  Great post!

Pat -very inspirational post, you got me fired up and I am suppose to be going to bed.   How goes things now that you are three weeks into your New Year?

Today, I did some of the things you mentioned that take you away from working on your business.  Currently, I am reading E Myth Mastery --phenomenal book and I highly recommend it.  Read E Myth revisited first.

Hey, what's wrong with hitting the gym for a steam( ha ha) anyway I worked out today too --2008 will be great(GOD Willing)
