I see the picture in my head...my blog standing there in the gym all "Incredible" like flexing away. For some
reason the vision I have of my blog is like the character in the movie "The Incredibles"big huge shoulders and doing that "flex thang"!! lol!!!
I have been trying and trying to learn all about outside blogs since I became a member here at ActiveRain.I really didn't think I needed another blog outside of ActiveRain so I didn't worry about having one. I was getting good Google juice with ActiveRain and then I got hooked!!! Hooked on Google juice!!! So being the addict that I am I decided to get a Wordpress blog. I chose Wordpress because of what I leaned from reading blogs here at ActiveRain. I guess Wordpress is another "fix".
I went about my business blogging on ActiveRain and reading all about SEO and then came the tracking curve. I needed to see the "where, why and how's" of traffic to my blog. Off for more ActiveRain education. Of course along the SuperBlog Highway I did become a little sidetracked until Frank Jewett wrote a blog yesterday and it became featured. "Strategy: Is Anyone reading Your Public Blog?" I jumped over everything to get to that one!!! It put me back on track and last night I installed some "secret squirrel"(that is what we call some of my husbands missions! lol! "secret squirrel stuff") devices.
This morning I went to post a new blog on my Wordpress blog which is called BloggingBremerton. I am looking around and there is "INFO" for me to read. Stuff like stats and links and key words and oh man!!! I can see my blog has been eating its Wheaties or taking steroids, I don't care what, I have "STUFF" computer geek "STUFF"!!
As I am reading and learning on my own blog about the "where, why and how" I can read how someone found my blog and there is a link on how they got there, when I click on the link it is a link to one of the main newspaper sites here in the Seattle area. The Seattle PI has a website and they also have bloggers. These are not staff writers they are just individuals that have requested to blog for the PI. P-I Reader Blogsare not written or edited by the P-I. They are written by readers, for readers. The authors are solely responsible for content. But the PI does screen these writers and does put them thru an "interview"process. Any how.... long story short here the reader blog in Kitsap called Kitsap and Beyondhas added my "other" Wordpress Blog ~ BloggingBremertonto their blog!! I feel like I am in pretty good company since Rich Jacobson'soutside blog "SoundBiteBlog" is linked there too!! Now I know I must be doing something right!! I think I am going to send the information off in the "interview" process and see what they say. Never hurts and how can I not when the PI is one of the top 20 news sites in America (Nielsen ratings, 2007) can you imagine? I know its a long shot but you never know until you ask.
Now, all you old-time bloggers are probably laughing your blogbutt arses off at this baby blogger and I can see the humor too. But little baby steps and this is one for me!!
I am very excited!!! It is just one more way for people to find my blog!!!How can you go wrong if your blog is somehow connected to one of the largest media outlets in the area, even if it is thru a reader's blog?
Cowaaablooogga Dude!
