I Am Proud To Be A Citizen Of Vallejo, California!

VALLEJO IN  POSITIVE SPOTLIGHTS!

I am not typically politically vocal. Without a second thought I am making an exception.

I will tell you why. Throughout the campaigning, the debate forums and finally the tallying of votes, we have all seen the good, the bad and the ugly. God don't like ugly and I don't either!

Vallejo has been on an election campaign roller coaster for months. The media and the surrounding communities have observed us from afar. Many people have scratched their heads and wondered what are we made of. I too have been confused and concerned. Let it be known that the roller coaster ride has come to a sudden and crashing end. The climax has been molded into a historical event for our city.

The recent Mayor’s election process was a tough and hard fought four-way race. In spite of the many obstacles and strange turns of events Osby Davis exhibited great faith and courage. He was victorious in the end by a mere two votes. If his actions and steadfast beliefs are any indication of his faith in Vallejo’s call for new leadership I look forward to him implementing Vallejo’s call for a progressive change.

Deep down the citizens of Vallejo did not want more of the same. They want to reach out and touch the dream. They want to taste and enjoy the good life, right here and right now. They want to participate in a new vision and witness an exciting age for our city. Let it be known change is conditional. Change will not come overnight. Let us all get on the bandwagon. We must work collectively and expeditiously. Then and only then can we step back and marvel at the fruit of our cooperative efforts.

My dream is that the city of Vallejo and the unique communities within its boundaries reap growth and prosperity from all of our efforts. I see a bright and glorious horizon for Vallejo. I for one want to be a part of it. At this moment I am extremely proud to be a citizen of Vallejo. I sincerely hope you share the same pride.
