What a beautiful week-end to get out and enjoy all that San Antonio has to offer.  Here are a few suggestions:

  • Institute of Texan Cultures
Historical exhibits, collections, and audiovisual displays highlighting the multi-ethnic contributions to Texas history.
  • McNay Art Museum
Impressionist Masters in the Main Collection Galleries and special exhibitions.
  • San Antonio Museum of Art
Contains a fascinating collection of Chinese, Greek and Roman antiques, Mexican Folk Art and 18th through 20th century paintings.
  • San Antonio Zoological Gardens & Aquarium
Features a collection of nearly 3,000 animals of almost 700 species in naturalistic settings, a safari exhibit, children's zoo, rides and shows.
  • Witte Museum
Exhibits related to Texas history and natural science.  The kids will love the  H-E-B Science tree house and the Witte Explorer.
  • Rio San Antonio River Cruises
Enjoy a narrated cruise down the San Antonio river along the Riverwalk.
  • Retama Park
Offers both live and simulcast thoroughbred and quarter horse racing.

Hi Jerry, I love going to the Institute of Texan Cultures.  It's very educational.

Yes, Robert, I haven't forgotten the Alamo but didn't include it here for reasons that escape me at the moment!

I've only been in San Antonio once...and thoroughtly enjoyed the Riverwalk.

Bet I would also enjoy the zoo (when I used to travel for a living, I'd always visit the zoo)
