There was some statistic out there that said that over 50% of us don't read a book after high school. I find that hard to believe.

I am a voracious reader. When I am feeling kinda grumpy and un motivated I go to Barnes and Noble and browse books. I get so upset when I forget my reading glasses and have to stretch out my arms to see the fine print... What happened to my eyes after 50?

For those of us who do love to read, it's hard to believe but when you think about it, it's not THAT unbelieveable. Men, in general, don't really care to read that much. This is a generalization, of course, because many men do like to read but I doubt it is a majority. Women, on the other hand, get so caught up in the demands of life they can't find the time to read. It's an interesting subject. I particularly enjoy audio books because they are so convenient and don't take time away from other things.

HHHHmmm, I'm not surprised. I haven't read a book since college and thats been 18 yrs and even when I was in college there were many classes which i never purchased a text book for.

Natalie: I have not read the book... Winning Through Intimidation... but I once worked for a new home builder whose management style was labelled "Management By Intimidation and Accountability." It was a hard place to work. After two successful years... all the while bucking their system, I quit. Could not do it anymore. They have since gone out of business.

@ Sean: You have not read a book for eighteen years... makes me wonder. Is this good news for you, or bad news ? Would it have been better if you had read more ? Why, or why not ?
