Portsmouth NH 2007 Best of Businesses

The 15th Annual Greater Portsmouth Region's Best Businesses for 2007 winners were recentlyl announced.

Portsmouth has so many wonderful businesses all around the region, and for there to be only one "Best" in each category ever year in this survey is difficult to choose.

A survey was conducted by GKM Independent Survey Co. throughout the Seacoast region for small businesses in the area, and some of the 2007 first place winners in each category are listed below:

"Best Real Estate Office" - RE/MAX Coast to Coast (our 3rd year in a row!)
"Best Coffee Show" - Breaking New Grounds
"Best Florist" - Jardinere
"Best Car Dealership" - Seacoast VW
"Best Casual Restaurant" - The Rusty Hammer (a favorite of locals for sure!)
"Best Chinese Restaurant" - Kim Lai (awesome take-out food!)
"Best Sandwich Shop" - Googie's Sandwich Shoppe
"Best Sushi Restaurant" - Sake Japanese Restaurant
"Best Pizza" - Savario's
"Best Seafood Restaurant" - Weathervane Seafoods (fresh seafood right off their own boats!)
"Best Bar or Pub" - The Rusty Hammer (pretty much mostly locals here-our secret place!)
"Best Veterinary Hospital" - Piscataqua Animal Hospital
"Best/Favorite Jeweler" - Kaya
"Best Automotive Service" - AR & T Auto Repair
"Best/Favorite Fitness Club/Facility" - Planet Fitness
"Best Place to Buy Tires" - Stratham Tire (great local service-very reasonable prices!)

Best Real Estate Company - RE/MAX Coast to Coast

For the Seacoast Region's best real estate office, the company I work for, RE/MAX Coast to Coast, was chosen! This is our thrid year in a row to win this honor, and we're thrilled as can be!

The real estate industry in the Seacoast area is very competitive, so for us to have won the region's number one choice means a lot.

I don't think I've ever been to the Rusty Hammer...we'll have to check it out next time we're up in Portsmouth.

Ann, Congrats on your office being on the list Ann. I really enjoy a good sandwich, so I would have to try out Googies.

Ann, Congratulations on best Real Estate office. I have sampled food at the Rusty Hammer and it is great.

Ann - Congrats on being one of the better businesses for the 3rd year in a row. I have actually been to the Rust Hammer a few times!

Monika - NEXT time you're here, call me! We can certainly hit the Hammer for a few and some chow - good basic food at good prices. Belly up to the bar there!

Steve - I like a really good sandwich, too. I have to say I've not yet tried Googies, but have heard some really good things about their food.

Judy - it's a favorite of locals, and you'll see folks from all walks of life in there. Plenty of very wealthy folks in there, and you'd never know it to look at them. It's just a great down home place where 'every body knows your name".... ;-)

Bill - the Hammer is a place that has been around for years and years. It started down closer to the center of Market Square, in a little hole in the wall space, then moved down to where it is, but in smaller space, then eventually took over the whole space they've got now. Great corner location and is always busy. Next time you're up this way, give a call!

Congratulations on the number 1 position, it is a rarity that a real estate company is every voted best in any survey. So congratulations are in order to you and your company, it says a lot about your company's service to the community.

Ann Congratulations, there are a lot of real estate companies on the seacoast...quite an achievement! I love Rusty Hammer. I have not tried Googies, guess I better check it out!

Hi Sharon - thanks! I've been going to the Hammer since it was a little hole in the wall bar closer to the square - a great locals place for sure! I haven't had the opportunity to try Googie's either, but plan to soon. Maybe we'll run into each other there - who knows!
