Hello,

I am new at using Top Producer. Any great pointers for this newbee? Does anyone have the "Top Producer 7i For Dummies" that they don't need? What changes are there in 8i that I might like to know, so I dont focus on learning that 7i section that might become obsolete? Nice to meet you...I am a Broker Associate with Coldwell Banker Currier and Lazier REALTORS in The Hudson Valley , New York.

Hi Lisa,

When 8i does get released, 7i will still be viable for at least a few months (maybe longer).  Anything that you learn in 7i will not be for naught...8i initially will improve upon the functionality of the 7i program.  Navigating will be easier and there will be less clicks to perform marketing functions such as creating a letter or flyer.  You were smart to sign-up for 7i now because when 8i does get released you will be upgraded at no additional charge.  Agents that wait for 8i to be released before signing up will pay more per month.  FYI-  The Top Producer for Dummies book was published over two years ago and since this program has had many upgrades over the last two years the book is slightly outdated.  You would benefit from utilizing our great tech support staff or taking an on-line training class.

Kisa,

Take the time to do the set up items in as much detail as you can. the time you take in set the easier it will be to use and succeed. I tell all the people I teach TP to the more time they spend in set up the better, also us the 15 minute system - put in your schedule to spend 15 minutes each day learning TP.

Also they have some great training clips on line you can view

Hi Lisa -

I highly recommend that you take one of the Top Producer Quick Start classes.  They are offered all over the U.S. so you should be able to find one near you.  These classes last approximately 1.5 - 2 hours and are extremely informative for those new to Top Producer products.  The instructors allow you to log into your own account and answer any questions you may have.  They also show you step-by-step how to set up your account and how to use the service.

Here's a link to see when and where available Quick Start classes are being held:

Click on New York and it will give you a list.

Of course, if you have any specific questions, feel free to post them and I'd be happy to help you out!
