Suffice it to say, I am not happy...................

Yes, they found my car.

Yes, I drove to Cincinnati to pick it up yesterday and got it this morning from the impound lot.

Yes, my car was reported stolen on the 19th of February and there were two parking tickets on the windshield when I picked it up.  One dated the 21st, the other the 23rd.  Gee, they didn't find the car until the 25th.  Hmmmmm!

Yes, it looks okay, so does my 92 year old Mother, but she can't walk!

Yes, I am still driving a rental car.

Yes, I drove a car that shakes, shimmies and makes weird noises for 4 1/2 hours.

Yes, I've got a lot of bitching to do!

Sorry if I didn't comment on your post today!

Good evening, Roger. I reckon it is one thing to be P-s-s-st and it is another to feel piston. But you are alive and well and that is all that matters...

Ouch. Insult is added to injury with the tickets and trying to get rid of them will probably not be easy. You can beach to me anytime. It does sometime help.

So let me get this straight... police report filed on the 19th reporting car stolen and 2 issued after that date but no one ran the vin or plate to find it stolen while they were writing tickets?

Yep, that about sounds right.

Roger, I won't even get into tickets being written on a stolen car..."Suffice it to say" sorry to hear about your car being stolen...that's something I've always thought about with a certain amoutn of dread for the day when it happens.

Roger, If all else fails, complain to Cincinnati City Council.   A total load of xxxxxxx that they didn't identify your car when the first ticket was written, much less the 2nd.

Roger -- you know it's just one of those things that shouldn't happen to anyone -- what a waste of time -- hope the situation clears up as quickly as possible for you.   How frustrating!

Hi Roger--I was hoping you were going to be writing some great news.  Can't believe the car sat there for days and received parking tickets.  Okay, I will wait for tomorrow's installment and hold good thoughts for you.

Sorry I didn't get back to this post until this morning, but yesterday was such a trying day and I couldn't bear to discuss it or think about it any more.

Bad enough my car was stolen, but the two parking tickets days after it was stolen just added insult to injury.  Five phone calls later (they kept giving me different departments to call), it's still not resolved, but you know it will be.  It will be a cold day in hell before I pay those tickets.

Get this..........I'm checking my mail when I got home yesterday.  A letter from the City of Cincinnati stating they recovered my stolen vehicle with the name and phone number of the WRONG impound lot where it was being held.  Makes you wonder......................

Of course there is a $500 deductible on my insurance policy, so nothing is covered yet, it's all on my dime.  There were things stolen out of the trunk of my car which are covered by my renters policy...........of course another $500 deductible, so I'm just OUT all that stuff that was taken.

It wasn't until yesterday when I saw the car that I felt violated.  They rummaged through everything.  Papers were strewn all over the car, CD's thrown everywhere and there were cigar butts in the ashtray.  I had my briefcase in the trunk, which of course is gone, but everything in it was just thrown back in the trunk.  Tools were taken plus some other personal items, but nothing that meets my deductible, so again, my dime.

I just want this to be over.  I should hear in a day or two from the service department where I dropped the car off yesterday whether my insurance is going to cover the repairs.  They seem to think it's a "slam dunk" since they have a history of service on the car and know these things were not wrong prior to it being stolen, but you never know with insurance companies.

Thanks for all of the comments, thoughts and good wishes.

Hi Roger.  What a bummer.  I hope the rest of the work is done by the insurance company.  Good luck.

No wonder you feel violated--you were! The easiest part of this mess to deal with should be the parking tickets. This too shall pass.

Roger, you've gotta love Bureaucracies! It's amazing how one department doesn't talk to another. Hope you get everything sorted out and you are not too out of pocket.
