I am gearing up for 2008, it happens to me every year. I am so pumped up..no matter what is going on...I am ready to start the new year. I love change...I love the fact we get to start over ..it brings life back into things that were either lost or neglected.

I love athletes and really successful people, not talking money but people who master their craft. What makes them so unique and what makes them so special? What makes them a perfect 10?

It starts with a dream, sometimes lifelong, they have self belief, no one I mean no one gets in the way, some leave home early, other's train nonstop, while they train continually they take action to put it into motion, by competing and competing more and more.

It's practice...practice..practice..until the games begin...for an athlete a silver medal is not good enough they strive for one thing that is to be the best....but imagine if you were to continually train and improve on some silver medal skills...Just imagine. Dream..Believe...Action..Goals...Plan...Train....Do..you could be gold! As in Olympic Gold.

I agree with your way of looking at preparation.  If you want to be successful you have to do the hard work.

I love winners! I have found that the key to my success in life has been surrounding myself with the best of any industry that I have worked with, and it has truly paid off. I have learned the work ethics of the best, and the perserverance as well!

Love your post Midori.  It was fun to relive  Mary Lou Retton's historic moments.  She is a true champion, and we can all be champions if we work at it.

Midori,

How true, how true.  Don't settle for second best and practice, practice, practice both on the 'field' and in your head.  Find time in the day to sit down and imagine that you are winning.  How does it feel?  Imagine it with all your senses.  As Linda says, "I can be as successful as I want'.

Good points. We need to make sure that we are up on our game. The more we practice perfectly, the better we become. Practice makes habit, so we need to make sure we are establishing the good ones.

Practice makes perfect.....remember that saying as we grew up?  Well some things never change......it is so true that if we want to be successful we have to work at it, and be flexible enough to change what isn't working.  I love your attitude :) :)

Rebecca I agree...do you know that when I started real estate I used to do my listing proposal to anyone and everyone that would listen...I would use some stuff animals as my audience...even my dogs...I had to resort to stuffed animals and pets because my friends and family got sick of it. Then it got to a point...I didn't have to practice this way...I went on many appointments...the more I did the better I became.

If I didn't get a listing that I wanted I asked why. That was my silver medal skill to work on and I did.  With buyers if they hesitated in made me think I missed a beat somewhere...why was I out with a buyer who really was not ready to buy...I worked on that silver medal skill...Today I train associates and keep myself current...as a trainer...I have many silver medal skills I am working on....

Joan-its great to know  that you will have a plan for 2008. To me, when I plan I feel better...I know that things won't always go according to plan BUT at least I know what direction I want to go to!
